And I will be sorely disappointed if we cant have larger rosters prior to the beginning of the regular season. Preseason NEEDS to mean something, otherwise, whats the point of even having it?

That's why Roger Goodell is trying to get rid of it.

But honestly, it'd be nice to have a calendar system for the franchise mode, where you HAVE to go from 60 or 70 or so players to the 53 man roster by a certain date.

I would like to see expanded rosters. NCAA has 70 man rosters, Madden has 53 man rosters. With that said, i don't like we are getting expanded rosters this year.

I totally understand were you coming from. I wanna build my team, after the draft I wanna sign a few guys and try them out in the pre season, majority of the time I play pre season games to boost ratings instead of looking for guys that fit my style of play. And I hope that some day we can have a practice squad.

The expanded rosters would coincide with something I've wanted for a long time: Keep the overall rating changes limited (or somehow do it in stages) until after the pre-season starts. I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but it would be badass beyond belief if you saw a guy's improvement the next pre-season or had a UDFA break out.

To dogpile on this, I hope that the hand made rookie classes also have a fair portion of undrafted guys worthy of a shot at a roster.

The expanded preseason rosters are something I would really enjoy. Cutting down roster to size would be a fun experience for franchise, at least for me. Practice squads would be good too. I hate having to cut a player I like to get down to size, when in real life I could stash him on the practice squad.
