I'd rather see DE instead of RE in madden's rosters

...and same goes with LBs, Safeties, tackles, and guards
and give players a rating boost for their primary preferred position, and not as much for their secondary positions

instead of just editing a position change yourself
when looking at a overall roster i'd like to be able to see and compare all my olb's instead of switching back & forth between LOLB and ROLB.

Example: im in franchise mode and i have a rookie rolb and a 2nd yr lolb. when trying to make a decision on who to start, i'd have to either write down one of their ratings or edit the rolb to lolb to compare the two. sumtimes when i have 2 rolbs and 2 lolbs, the game doesn't let me change the position.

this would also be helpful when doing depth charts. It always irks me a little when i have a rolb 2nd on the depth chart for lolb, just seems a little weird

EA just does this for the fans with less knowledge of the game, I dont see a huge deal. I would like to see this fixed, but I dont really care.

i don't care much either although SS and FS are definitely two different positions often played a lot differently. obviously, changing a SS to FS as his primary would show a change in ratings but it's a lot easier to label them out for recruiting and tracking purposes IMO

It is a little bit annoying but it is not that significant.
Even though the dev team has made Madden more complex in many aspects of the game, they still want it to be playable by the younger ages.

you guys are right. i guess i was bein a little selfish and didnt think of the lesser knowledgeable gamers. i was just thinking of an easier way to view all olbs, tackles, etc.
nba 2k has a simplified rating system easy to read, and a advanced one, maybe i was hoping for sumthin like that

it's not being selfish...everyone has different ideas and none are stupid or selfish. well, not all of them at least! it''s just that football positions are a little more complex and this would make it too difficult i would say.
