I'm pretty sure you all have heard of how big of baseball fans the guys of at Team Ramrod(MLB The Show Series) are. Has their been any statement from the Madden team indicating whether or not they are big fans of football. I'm just wondering b/c it seems that they ask for alot of suggestions that could be answered through watching a few games on Sundays.

Let's see, Larry Reichardt was a collegiate football player with one of the Florida teams, Anthony White has been a long time football fan and breaks down film from NFL films, Ian plays soccer and is a big time football fan, Phil has been working on Madden since the PS2 or 1 days, so, yeah, I would say they love the sport that they are a making a game for.

I have a tough time believing the guys on the NCAA team are big football fans. That game has never felt like big time College Football.
With Madden, i get the complete opposite, at least this year anyway. It seems as tho they are paying attention to what we as fans want. To do that, they themselves have to be fans of the same stuff we are.Comment

o really? This would be true if the game in question happened to be anything other than the madden series. Do not get it twisted, I do commend their efforts with Madden 10. But do keep in mind that this is only happening due to the diminished support the series has been receiving in recent years.
And I also pose this question b/c you don't find other developers posting threads asking fans for input on next year's game only a week after its release. All you have to do is turn on the tv to find out what animations to include in your FOOTBALL game. FOOTBALL is played the same every year. There is no "new tackle" that will occur in this upcoming football season that didn't exist last year.Comment

bet you would like that huh? of course you want me to be censored b/c i pose a simple question. Some of the greatest series' every created were due to the simple fact that the developers were big fans/passionate about the genre/sport(MLB: The Show, NBA 2K, MGS Series, etc). So don't act as if this isn't a relevant issue. All it takes is a little research and you will find that many games have suffered due to the fact that the developers ASSIGNED to the title weren't interested or passionate about making it.(The makers of Lair collectively say hi).Last edited by bakerboy; 05-05-2009, 08:48 PM.Comment
