That may be the reason they show replays of insignificant plays, but the reason they show replays on any halfway decent play is because people like to see good plays more than once.

I don't need it after every single play, but I'd like it to be like an actual broadcast.

I actually wouldn't watch every single replay, but I'd like the option.

Yea the perfect solution would be a slider. That's all we need is options. The button mashers always have the option. Presentation guys have to hope, and usually get the short end of the stick. Especially with EA.

That sums it all up pretty succinctly.

Re: Auto Instant Replays - How Important?

I give it a 10 also. For the life of me I don't know what changed at EA to make them so disrespectful of the replay. The best sports game EA EVER made was MVP Baseball 2005. In that game they DID have the options for auto replays at LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH frequency. They EVEN had the option to turn off auto replays. I guess maybe the priorities changed or something. I just don't know why. Someone at EA Sports knew the value of the replay in their sports game. It's not that way now. Porche Unleashed was a fantastic racing game! It was also the last NFS game that featured full race replays. No full race replays in the Nascar games either. There's been a deliberate shift in strategy away from the presentation value that comes from having an adequate replay system.

There are small signs that things may be changing.
I guess we just gotta keep pushing them!

Re: Auto Instant Replays - How Important?

If you think about it, the reason replays and presentation were thrown under the bus for so long is because of online play. The majority of people online are younger (growing up with online games) and they want action fast and furious, no commercials. They want it now and aren't real concerned with detail because they are moving on to the next best thing anyway. Now me and my generation grew up with playing our buds face to face, sometimes all night long. We even started our own leagues, with a 20 dollar salary cap, using NBA Live '97, draft and all, it wasn't sim, but alot of fun. I think things now are getting back to a slower, more detailed game. Why? Because there are alot of Madden players now in there 30's. They want more from Madden. The game is advertised to represents football...NFL football...our passion. We want a better game...replays included. Oh, BTW, we also need an in game save feature. Maybe someday, we did get refs and a chain gang this year.
