Draft Picks in Madden

First off I'd like to say Madden 10 has peaked my interest so much that I'm going to buy it this year. I never really liked the gameplay for Madden on the PS3 or 360 since it made it's way on the next-gen consoles, just felt robotic to me... I don't know. But back to why I'm hear. I have only ONE gripe with Madden and that is draft picks.

Can a dev or someone with extensive knowledge explain to me that with all the years Madden has been around I've yet to be able to trade away future draft picks in Franchise mode? This is my only question and gripe about the game. It pains me that we still cannot trade away at the very least a next year's pick while trading for/away players. It's madness I tell you!

Well I have to say you could trade future pick on madden 07 ps2 version. I would be able trade that year draft pick and the next year pick on a player from another team. But since madden has come to the next Gen console the trading future pick has disappeared. I would love to see them put the option in madden 11 to be able to do that.

Agreed. That's probably my biggest complaint about franchise mode. This makes trading and the draft very unrealistic. For example, the Tony Gonzalez trade couldn't be possible in Madeen. How could this not be in the game year after year. It was in Head Coach 09!!! (Well unfortunately <5% of HC got brought into franchise- I almost wish I never played HC09 cuz I got teased with what franchise should be, but won't be in this years Madden. As they say "Ignorance is bliss"- I wouldn't even know what I'd be missing

I agree. Every year around draft time I start getting frustrated over this because you can bet there are going to be a dozen deals made on draft day (and before for that matter) that I can't do because of limitations.

I agree that this is very frustrating and takes away from any realism within a franchise. I've also been very disappointed that we've been without restricted free agents since making the leap to this generation of consoles.

yeah i do not like it either because to move up in the round you have to trade away 3 of your current year picks. The thing that they really need to fix and i think they did is what position they draft in the first. The first 20 picks are QB's and RB's with the occassional corner or something.
