I think a week break is warranted. But you have to realize that what they do is a full time job, they're not like teachers and get a summer break they have utilize all the time they have to deliver a better product next year.

I really think Madden needs to become a every other year thing. This way they team has enough time to really revamp the engine and the bugs and glitches. I'm not saying they shouldn't update the roasters constantly, but its something they should consider.

Thats sounds like a great idea, but will never happen. With the exclusive nfl agreement, EA has to release Madden every year.

Re: Already working on madden 11

This is what I think should be done to alleviate the problems with the year to year cycle. EA should simply double or triple the staff. Keep the core Madden 10 crew but triple the amount of developers. If you do that, you can take what was one job for a developer and 1/3rd it. You get more work done, faster and essentially get a year ahead.

It only seems logical to me but of course I don't know jack about the actual process so....meh

Which doing so will also double or triple their spending, likely trickling down into the games price point.

EA wouldn't have to raise the cost of the game. Take a look at other games from other studios who's teams triple that of Maddens. Do THEIR games cost $80.00 at retail?

EA would spend more, and thus, earn less but if they wanted to ensure higher quality, that just seems like the logical thing to do imo.
