Madden 10 Speed

Hello all-

Am I the only one who is upset over the speed of the demo? Its funny to me that the demo says that EA slowed down Madden to make it more realistic. Do they not realize that is the opposite of football?

Now before everyone spouts, "You can change the game speed in the retail version." Im concerned that the game was built for the slow speed and will fail at a faster, more realistic game.

I'm sure it wont fail and online is default "normal" and the demo is on "slow", you may find that "normal" is the speed you like and what I think the game was built on not the demo's "slow" speed

i actually like the game speed it threw me off the 1st time but wen u get used to it its great its alot better den 09 for me

I like the speed of 10 its perfect. If you play 10 then play 09 you see how much of a difference there is 09 is like warp speed compared 2 10

So the demo isnt even on the default speed hmm i would think they would of had that on default so were used to it. I for one would like to just keep things at default if the demo is slower then retail default bums me out a bit no big deal though just wanted to be used to the speed by the time its out.

EA is backward as hell....
The demo is slllloooooowwwwww......crazy my dudes
But the games default is "slow" and online its "normal".....
IDK WTF they chose to do that dums bleep but hey.....
As long as online is faster then the demo its ok because tourneys will prob have the online speed

Um, no its not. Football is not a fast sport. If you play football you will know this. Watching football is not even fast either. If you were to compare Madden 09's speed to a game in real life you would see a major difference. The demo speed is almost an exact replication of real life speed.

I beg to differ. So why do they draft WRs that run a 4.3 and not a 5.1?

I just checked nfl.com's 2008 draft info and out of the top ten WR's the slowest guy ran a 4.68 40 yard dash.

120 feet in under 5 seconds. Thats fast. And he was the slowest. Im sorry friend but you do not know what you are talking about.

Its fast, but its not 09 fast. You didn't really even get close to what I was saying. Yea people are fast, but the game is at the speed of what real life is. Its almost the same speed.

The overhead cameras give the game that illusion of being slow. Watch the sideline camera. It tells a different story.

And as far as the game goes, I think EA should have fixed the suction blocking and madden spite before editing the speed.


Madden Spite- This is what i call it when the game turns uber cheap when you are beating it. Anyone who has played Madden on All-Madden or All-pro knows what im talking about. Hell yesterday the packers recovered two onside kicks from me in the same quarter. How you ask? Madden spite.

You missed the point, the game itself is not fast paced like say basketball, but they get those fast guys so they can beat the defense and get the score.

The speeds perfect for me... I really hope next year they don't revert back to the old speed

I understand what you were trying to comunicate. It's not that you were saying peoplw are slow its that you were saying that this speed now is more realistic. If you ran 40 times in madden 09 it would have more than likely killed the actual 40 time of a real person in pads. With a slower speed it is actually way closer to realistic. I think the OP misunderstood what you were gettting at in your post.
