Playing online and 4th and inches at the goal line. I call a qb sneak since it seems to be working against me. My guy (orton) hikes the ball and falls straight to the ground. Nobody was to the left of the center, i had no control over anything that happened. SO in a nutshell I dont score, So score remains tied.

Another madden problem that still exists is this horrible punt coverage. I pick punt return left. Nobody blocks still have a few yards between the defender. So I decide with royal to catch it. And of course he gets hit and fumbles and of course the guy that hits me magically comes up with the ball and gets up and runs it in. I lose. Had to happen sometime..just wish it wasn't because of this crap.

You can control the direction the QB falls. It's a fail on EAs part for not explaining it anywhere except for twitter a couple months back

qb dive works perfectly, and the animation is great....

And punt coverage is farmed.

I'd like to know how to do it. I've done 3 online.

1. Vs 4-3 base D. 8 yard gain.
2 & 3. Vs Goal line D. QB just falls to the ground, untouched, play is still going until someone on D touches him. One time I tried pressing up, another time left.

Just hold up left. He won't go any further than a yard.

Unfortunately that seems to be the way they deal with plays that people call cheese. Instead of balancing the effectiveness of a play, they completely take it out or make it worthless. That qb sneak animation is pure garbage, period. And yes, you could have kicked it but what if the situation is different? So the qb sneak and rocket catch have been completely taken out instead of balancing it. Don't get me wrong, this is a great game...but don't do that to us.

yeah... because QB dives are designed to get 5+ yards, and rocket catches are real...

Dude...I'm a grown man...I don't do cat fights. You can make your point without getting smart. Again, I asked that they balance the effectiveness of the plays. If they balance the effectiveness of these plays, the qb sneak would not go 5 yards and the rocket catch would not be automatic. I don't want rocket catch per se but I would like for the receivers to be able to jump and attack the ball just like the DB's do. That's the only point I'm trying to make.

Hahaha exactly. You see what the past Maddens have done to people, guys think that a 4th and inches with Orton as your QB is an automatic 1st down.

LOL...nah, not an automatic but him just laying down is silly...At least let them stand behind the o-line and push. The effectiveness of the sneak should be based on the O-Line blocking ability and the QB toughness...can you agree?

I'll agree with you on that. The animation is weird but it beats the QB sneak last year where the QB would get the 1st down everytime by just running in place behind the center till a hole opened up. Maybe next year we will get a more realistic QB sneak where he's pushing behind the center or guards.
