with all the complaint/negative threads (probably like 9 out of 10 threads) here one would think that is the case and one of the worst games ever made, but IMO it is not a bad game at all. Its actually very solid and probably one of the best Maddens made to date besides 05 on the ps2.

Of course there are some very glaring issues like the flats which are pretty money against any defense, lack of cpu run game, QB's that dont have a blind spot, bad run blocking AI for both human and cpu, lack of a consistent pass rush, and many more (damn, it does sound like this game is all jacked up huh?). With all that though, I still am really enjoying this game and keep looking forward to my next franchise game, already 6 games into my regular season. With madden 09, I never even played past the pre-season. Thats how hideous that game was.

I guess it's just human/consumer nature to raise a ruckus and complain when something is a bit off. When do you see somebody go back to a store and demand to speak to a manager just to praise their service or product? Yup, it don't happen too often.

I'm not picking up on too much of a "panic in the streets" vibe with any of the feedback, OP.

More than anything, it seems like dudes REALLY want to LOVE Madden 10, but there's a few small issues preventing it from being 'close to perfect'. Guys are passionate and just asking for a few loose ends to get tied up before moving on to Madden 11. Seems pretty normal.

Sure, haters are going to hate - but no, it's not awful - nor do I see any outrage. In fact, I've never read so much positive stuff on OS...like ever.

In relation to where it SHOULD be at this point in its legacy, considering the hardware capabilities they have yeah its pretty bad.

The game is pretty damn good, probably the best of the next-gen games.

Every game has issues and this games issues aren't half as bad as any other football game I've played on next gen

I agree there. I havent been this much into my franchise since 05 when I actually played about 15 seasons. It looks like I will at least hit a couple seasons on this game before the basketball games start taking some of my game time.

I agree 100% , I just played all day and unless someone has magical sliders IMO it just doesnt play a smooth REAL game of football over the long haul .
Now with what EA has given us on next gen this is by far the best but alot of the game still has major issues just not fun kinda of boring .
Most games are comebacks or blowouts late , dont wanna rag on it but its seems like old madden with new paint even with alot of new good add ons.

I've had every type of game out there. Games where I throw up 300 yards but 4 picks. Games where I'll dominate with my running back only to get him injured. I've had a few 7-10 game then the next game it'll be 45-14 then 35-32.

Madden's used to feel scripted. Not anymore

Well, I'm just one guy but I'll give you my opinion. Before I do though, I feel I should preface my comments with the fact that I have not played NFL 2k5 in years. I played APF 2k8 when it came out, but again, it's probably been over a year since I've touched it..more likely a year and a half. I will not once compare this game to those games because I don't care about those games. I care about what I have now.

With all that said I think this game has some serious issues. I don't want to beat a dead horse. Just look through these forums and you will see exactly what is wrong with the game. It might sound like I'm saying it's bad. I'm not. It's fun. It has potential. It just misses the mark in some key areas. Again, I'm not going to rehash what has been said all over these forums, but the running game and the blocking are still completely screwed up. The nature of football as a game requires everything to be in balance, and in this game it just isn't.

If you are the type of person who loves to fiddle with sliders and try to find a perfect setting for yourself you may find some enjoyment out of this game. On the other hand, if you just want to load a game disc into your tray and have it play a convincing game of football without any work on your part I'm here to tell you that you won't find that here.

Some people will probably try to refute what I'm saying by telling me I'm not giving specific examples. It's 4AM. If need be I will tomorrow. Otherwise I can say again, just look at the stuff being said in these forums.

I think I can sum up my experience with this game by saying the following: I've had this game since release day and I've played many hours trying to find a way to make it play like real football in all areas. I don't need perfection I just need believability. I have not bothered to start a franchise because I haven't felt like I've been able to get the game where I need it to be yet as far as playing well on a game to game basis. I've tried different slider sets that are posted here. I've tried messing with MySkill. I just haven't found it.

All this sounds negative I know, but it can be a fun game. I've played local head-to-head games with friends and had a blast. For some reason though, against the computer this fun just hasn't translated for me.

There you go...my 2 cents worth (or was that more like 10 dollars worth?).

IDK if its that terrible but seems like people refuse to give it a chance. Its been out officially for 3 days and people are riding it to the ground.

Look...my only advice is if you are a football sim purist type please don't buy this game. And I'm not even talking about a sim purist at the level of guys like Apex and Moody who look for every little thing to be just so. Rent it and check it out first. If you play it and decide it's for you than by all means buy it. There are lots of people out there raving about this game. But if you are into football you owe it to yourself to at least rent this and then make your own judgement. Knowing what i know though I can't recommend a straight up purchase in good conscience. However, this game at least early on, seems to be nothing if not polarizing. Unless you've got 60 dollars to gamble the safe bet is to rent it (or Gamefly it if you do that).
