UNSIGNED DRAFT PICKS DISAPPEAR??

I am in my second season of an offline dynasty for PS3, and my number 1 pick wanted so much money i signed all the other draft picks but him and advanced to the next off season activity thinking just as in real life he will be a hold out and after i make some roster adjustments I can sign him....I have not started the season yet or even pre season and he is no were to be found???He's not a free agent and hes not anywere on my roster? Has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah along with forgetting the draft info they droped the ball on this as well, Maybe this is why draft history has been left out because it broke and they dont know how to fix this..

If I remember correctly, this happens on previous Maddens as well. I could be wrong, but I remember playing 08 on the PS2 and something like this happening.

I really dont want to keep saying it, but its true. EA doesnt really care about their product. As long as everything looks good on the surface, its fine. When you start to dig, even if you arent looking for something thats messed up, you find it.

He's probably not missing. It's just that when you didn't sign him, you technically release him. He probably immediately signed elsewhere. Look for him on other teams' rosters.

Well, the reason I think he IS missing is because this issue has been in the game before, and I wont be shocked if it still is.

happened to me too with a player i couldnt sign. look on another roster i believe i found the player on another team.

Yeah I always hated players disappearing but I do understand why it happens.

I always hated it when you don't re-sign a player and you expected to later sign him out of the free agent pool and he is nowhere to be found.

If you don't sign them at the "rookie signing" part of the offseason, another team will pick them up when you proceed to the preseason. They no longer appear in FA because that was a cheat.

The only problem i have with this is that our unsigned rookies, join other teams for 1 year 450k deals.

I was unable to click on my first draft pick and when i simulated he joined the falcons for a 450k, 1 year deal... seems like a band-aid fix on both issues.

ps. My drafted QB turned out to be an 85.

I hit a bug where the game doesn't allow you to sign your 1st round pick (you select him form the list, but pressing X does nothing). My 1st thought was, oh well, I'll just advance past this and sign him from the FA pool. To my surprise he was already signed by another team when I went looking for him.

I got the same bug. The work around for this is, sign all the picks that you can get to the negotiation screen for. Then save. Then turn control of draft pick signing to the CPU and sim past that step. Hopefully the CPU and the rookie can agree to a deal. If not, reload from your saved game and try again.

This didn't happen to me...I didn't sign one of my rookies (thinking he was bust). And entered the preseason and he was still there, so I picked him up since he was an 84 with B potential

In the past unsigned picks went into the free agent pool. You used to be able to get a top 5 pick from there just about every year or two that did not sign.

Well I can understand how people could cheat the system, but realistically as in Crabtree and other rookies situation if I draft him and decide not to pay him on draft day he cant just sign with another team, I know this is true at least until the regular season?/Because Michael Crabtree wants to get paid and the 49ers havent paid him yet and there into the preseason and he obviously cant just sign with another team, hes talking about rentering the draft? Please correct me if im wrong on this logic?

You are correct that the 49ers own his rights for the duration of the season. The funny part about Crabtree thinking about re-entering the draft is that he won't be able to work out for any other NFL team. He can't have a pro-day like incoming prospects. In the way the game is though there would be no way to "carry" an extra guy on the rosters. so it is either sign him or lose him immediately.

So basically if Madden were to replicate the actually NFL the rookie I drafted that didn't sign should only be available for me to sign all the way up until the following NFL season?And by him going into the FA pool or another team signing him is unrealistic?
