    Gamestops logic is questionable....

So, due to myself being broke, and needing to at least pay my phone bill, I suck it up and decide that I need to go return madden to gamestop. So i go there and everything is cool at first. I tell the dude that I need to return the game, and he reply's with "we cant do that". Now, that took me by surprise. So I ask him why, he says, "its just a gamestop thing." WOW. Talk about bull crap. So he told me that I can trade it in for a whooping $27....when just 6 days ago i paid $60 +tax. So, apparently, the only way to get a return on new items is if it doesnt work, and if that case they just replace it. Its crazy logic, you can return any used game for a full price, but you cant return any games that you bought new? it puzzles me....

If it's out of it's shrink wrap, consider it used up already. It's the main practice in every store for years.

You cant just return it like that and expect a fully refund, but I would expect you to be able to sell it back for more than 27.

After all, they only sell the used game 5 dollars cheaper.

I'm not a big Gamestop fan, but if you've already opened the game and played it, then of course they aren't going to give you a full refund. They can't legally, sell the game as new again.

You can't return games ANYWHERE. It's an anti-piracy issue. It's not a gamestop thing it's a retail thing. Buy it from a Wal-mart or a Best Buy, they'll tell you can only exchange it for a different copy of the same game. The idea being to prevent people from buying a disc, copying it, and returning it to get said disc for free.

Sell it on craigslist for 50 bucks. I am sorry for your financial situation, but buying madden when you are broke, or close to it, is not a good idea.

Not trying to slam you bro but, if you were broke why did you buy the game?
                  Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

They give you more for the game if you take store credit instead of cash

I have actually returned games I bought from wal-mart, with no questions or resistance from the employee or manager. Done the same at circuit city (when they existed). I understand that they cant really just "take" the game back, but it makes me mad becuase I have bought games from Gamestop as "new" but they tried to give me those "new" games in opened boxes. So, in my logic, if they can sell me a used game as new, i can return my new game. But, greedy rich bastards run this world and cant handle a little fairness.

After i tried to take it back, I was thinking about taking it to the other store(2 seconds away from the other store) and telling them my 360 wont read it, then assuming they would give me a sealed copy, get my money back that way.

one time i returned a game to walmart(that i didn't even buy there, i dont think) and said it didn't work, i got it yesterday and that i lost the receit. then they were out so i got a store credit, and ended up buying the game cause it really was broken, but the point is walmart is even stricter than they used to be and you can still return almost anything. i remember when i returned an air matress with a hole from my dog in it. walmart really used to take anything. not as much now but wow.

This is one of the worst topics I've seen, their policy is plainly printed on the receipt, it's definitely a YP here...

Why would you even worry about the store credit amount if you're trying to get a refund because you're tight on cash. How much cash did they offer?

And you can sell the game on amazon.
