Those annoying POP UP ADS in madden 10

Today for the first time I noticed those annoying new pop up ads in madden 10 for something called Fantasy Factory on MTV. I'm not here to necessarily bash in game ads. I'm a marketing major and I graduate in 2011, and i sure as hell wouldn't mind working for an in game ad company at some point. BUT, there is a way to do in game ads that isn't intrusive, annoying or distracting. I don't need to see the same ad popping up over and over right as I'm bringing my offense on the field, or right when I'm trying to make a big defensive play on 3rd down.

I'm very interested in what the community has to say about this issue.

Does this particular ad make you more interested in Fantasy Factory on MTV?

Does the placement and repetition of this ad annoy you?

What console? And is it online or offline? I have yet to see one offline on my 360.

No, but Fantasy Factory is an awesome show!
They are just trying to make the Madden experience more realistic by throwing advertisements in the middle of games! :wink:

Just kidding, I have yet to notice it, but I dont play online, so that might be part of it. I would get rather annoyed though if the same advertisement kept popping up in the middle of a game.

The advertisements appear offline as well as online. I think they should make them appear on the scoreboard so they are less noticeable and don't get in the way of the game.

I didn't mind the Coca Cola ad but the Fantasy Factory one was irritating. They could have thrown the ads on the scoreboard video screen, which would have made sense. Other games have ads in appropriate places such as posters on walls, and billboards. But this is stupid.

No, it's not going to make me watch Fantasy Factory. And it definitely isn't going to make me buy Coca Cola. I am a Pepsi man through and through.

While I'm on this subject, I didn't spend $60 on a video game to see ads. The video game industry is starting to become ****. There should be an option to disable ads - Madden doesn't need endorsements.

I am perplexed. What system are you seeing these ads? I have the 360 and haven't seen one popup ad yet.

The pop up ads are small rectangular boxes that will surface on the right side of the score ticker.

Ahh my bad could it be cause I only play offline franchise?

I haven't played a single online franchise game or online game. I noticed the ads after I received the Michael Vick / Brett Favre roster update.

Huh, strange. I have the latest EA roster update too. Could it be, XBOX Live Gold customers don't see the ads? Trust me, not complaining just was curious.

Again, I have Xbox Live Gold too. It could be very possible you're just not noticing them. They don't pop up over the entire screen. They're small rectangles on the bottom center-right of the screen. So far, I've seen Coca Cola and MTV Fantasy Factory.

I've only seen them once, and it was in an online game. Never seen them in my offline franchise yet. I'm sure I will eventually though.
