    Madden Challenge

So I came up with a little challenge system for Madden 2010. Here's how it goes:

    Offline franchise
Default All-Madden, 10 min. quarters, 15 second runoff

    Team Management Rules:
    1. You can make only four trades per season (wk 1 preseason to wk 1 preseason).
You can trade for ONE player rated <69
You can trade for ONE player rated 70-79
You can trade for ONE player rated 80-89
You can trade for ONE player rated 90+, but it must be done through the trading block only.
You CANNOT trade for rookies that have just been drafted by another team after the draft. The only exception is in year one, when you can trade for rookies.
If you acquire multiple players from one team in a trade, it counts for multiple trades. (ie: Acquire a 70 and 80 ovr player counts for trade 2 and 3, leaving 2 left)
    2. You can sign only TWO free agents rated >70. You can sign unlimited FA's <69.
    3. You cannot trade for draft picks outside of the above trades. You are welcome to acquire more picks in the above four trades, ie: by trading a 90 ovr for a 60 ovr and a 1st round draft pick. But remember, this 60 ovr player counts as your #1 trade, leaving only 3 left.
    4. You cannot trade away free agents signed to your team for 1 calendar year. For example, if you sign a guy in week 1 of season 1, you cannot trade him until week 1 of season 2.

    OFFSEASON:
In the offseason, you can sign two FA players >70 OVR.
There is one exception - you may replace players who are leaving through FA, but the player you sign must not be rated higher than the player you lost. For example, if you lose an 85 OVR QB, you can bring in an 83 OVR QB, and this will not count towards your two players >70. But if you bring in an 87 ovr QB, that counts as one of your two.
DRAFT: You may make ONE trade during the draft and it must include ONLY draft picks. Doesn't matter if you trade up or down.

    If you win the Superbowl:
You must move the team you currently own to a new city, if approved.

    In game rules:
    1. You can ONLY call plays out of the Ask-Madden set on both offense and defense. No exceptions. If you think you should go for it and Ask Madden says punt, you've gotta punt.
    2. No audibles are allowed. You are allowed motion on offense only. You are allowed to hot-route to block only, no other hot-routes allowed. You are not allowed to flip the direction of the run play.
    3. On defense, the ONLY defensive maneuvers allowed are press coverage and show blitz. No shifts allowed. No pinching, looping, slanting of DL.

And here's the game... get the most points:

    Each win = 1 point

    Re: Madden Challenge

    My team: Cincinnati Bengals

Trades (from memory, may not be exact):
    1. Traded FOR PHI HB LeSean McCoy 75 OVR
Traded AWAY HB Cedric Benson 76 OVR
    4th round DP

    2. Traded FOR PHI WR DeSean Jackson 82 OVR
    Traded AWAY 2nd round DP
    3rd round DP

    3. Traded FOR JAX RB Rashad Jennings 69 OVR, 3rd round DP
Traded AWAY WR Laveranues Coles 87 OVR

Haven't made a trade for a 90 ovr yet. Nothing on the block that I want... Traded for 2 RB which is strange, but McCoy doesn't have much power so I wanted to make a reach at RB.

    FA signings:
    HB S. Makino 67 OVR
    TE Z. Miller 55 OVR
    LG M. Wahle 85 OVR
    MLB T. Gooden 66 OVR
    CB R. Manning 67 OVR
    CB C. McAlister 86 OVR

    Sun, Sep 13 Denver 1:00 PM L 24-30
Sun, Sep 20 at Green Bay 1:00 PM L 14-51
    Sun, Sep 27 Pittsburgh 1:00 PM W 20-17
    Sun, Oct 4 at Cleveland 1:00 PM L 17-20
    Sun, Oct 11 at Baltimore 1:00 PM L 7-47
    Sun, Oct 18 Houston 1:00 PM W 21-20
    Sun, Oct 25 Chicago 1:00 PM L 62-10
    Sun, Nov 8 Baltimore 1:00 PM W 34-10
    Sun, Nov 15 at Pittsburgh 1:00 PM L 26-13
    Sun, Nov 22 at Oakland 4:15 PM L 27-13
    Sun, Nov 29 Cleveland 1:00 PM W 30-24 OT
    Sun, Dec 6 Detroit 1:00 PM W 31-23
    Sun, Dec 13 at Minnesota 1:00 PM L 24-7
Sun, Dec 20 at San Diego 4:05 PM L 42-21
    Sun, Dec 27 Kansas City 1:00 PM L 21-18
Sun, Jan 3 at NY Jets 1:00 PM W 35-17

I've been waxed so far this season. Could have used another CB or safety but used two trades on RB's. Statistically, it looks like a 2 point season.. but we'll see.

Made my 2nd 70+ FA signing in week 7.. Went with CB Chris McAlister 86 ovr.. Can't afford him for more than one year but he might help me stay over .500. I was getting TORCHED with the default roster (3rd CB = 50s rating). Might be tough for me to score points with the Bungles on this system. Only DeSean Jackson looks like he'll qualify for anything.

These settings have given me some whippins so far. Interested to see how many points I get out of this season.. Whatever I end up with won't be hard to beat, though.
