Unfortunately you're right. The only thing I've noticed so far is that because my corners are doing such a stellar job of covering that my D-Line is getting sacks because no one is open. First pre-season game Orakpo had 1, Merriman had 3, and Haynesworth had 1. At least these guys can get to the QB quicker than others. Hopefully patch 2 will improve it though.

RE- Brian Orakpo 85 OVR (should have a field day with 1-1 matchups)
DT- Albert Haynesworth 99 OVR (man-eating monster)
DT- Mario Williams 93 OVR (291 lbs, now most athletic DT in league)
LOLB- Aaron Curry 84 OVR (future superstar on the outside)
MLB- Patrick Willis 98 OVR (by far the best linebacker in the game)
ROLB- Ernie Sims 87 OVR (fast and hard hitting)
CB- Nnamdi Asomugha 99 OVR (definition of lockdown)
CB- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie 87 OVR (future definition of lockdown)

FS- Kenny Phillips 78 OVR (will play center field and become the next great safety)
SS- Laron Landry 86 OVR (will roam and look to make big plays
i have nothing against you, but i hate your team and what you've done. im not gonna sit here and say "omg thats so unrealistic...keep it true to life"...nah that aint me, but how is that evenly close to possible?

i just dont see what u can give up from the redskins to get those 4 players i bolded...and then get shawne merriman and ernie sims and Aaron Curry. I mean Nnamdi and Patrick Willis are THE TOP PLAYERS (overall) at their position. i dont think your first 3 draft picks can get them, and u kept Clinton Portis and Chris Cooley. just explain please...

and for suggestions...switch to a 3-4...move mario williams to ROLB or LOLB and move that LB to MLB. the 3-4 doesn't work the way its supposed to, but i find it easier to get pressure. Since your DBs are fast and have great man coverage, you'll see a lot of bad throws due to the QB holding on the ball too long b/c of the great coverage. But it depends on which position you play...i have an A potential FS (plays like Ed Reed and hits like BD) 98 overall...so i blitz all the time and the QB has less than 3 seconds...or else lol

        Scroll up.

And I ended up trading for Tommie Harris not Mario Williams so I will probably be sticking to a 4-3. Harris isn't paid as much and I will have a little bit more money to work with in the off-season after the huge cap hit I'm taking from penalties.

-RE Timmons/7/7 for Woodley/2/3- No chance- they prob wouldn't trade just woodley for that deal but add 2+3 also. NEVER.

-RE Woodley/6/6 for Tommie Harris/2/3- see above

Note: Made the Tommie Harris trade instead of the Mario Williams trade because then I can keep my 3 first round picks.
Highlighted the ones that are impossible even with madden's flawed trade logic.

            1. Load a franchise with default rosters and make the first 2 trades. Then you will see that the Willis trade works.

            2. My mistake I meant to write Shaun Smith (not Sean, but I can see how you were thinking I meant the one from the Dolphins).

            3. Biggest rip off trade but yea it happened.

            4. Bridges is a 72 OVR RT and Timmons is a 74 MLB, add the picks and you have a trade.

5/6. Timmons becomes a highly rated DE (I think it's 91). So yea the trade worked.

That's where you cheated. Changing 3-4 edge rushers to DE is fine, like with Merriman and English (even Orakpo, since he is a DE who Washington is playing at LB, like the Giants tried with Kiwanuka), but changing an undersized LB to an even more undersized DE is where you are cheating the system.

Yea I don't see it as cheating. No one's ratings have been touched so to me it's fine. Bottom line is the trades work.

Why would you make a team stacked like that? I guess the rest of the league is garbage then. Have fun going 16-0 cause if you dont your terribad.

U can waffle the rest of the trades about changing positions and blah blah blah but in no world does this trade happen:

                      -RE English for Cromartie/Cason/1.

I don't know what rating Larry English moves up to when at DE but it still wouldn't be worth a 1st rd pick, let alone Cromatie and Cason also.

                      I call BS.

Dude, if you can't hold your opponents to less than 2 TDs a game I would seriously break my disk and try and different game. I mean why on Earth would you take adavantage of an obvious idiotic computer controlled franchise? I mean honestly, where is the fun in controlling a team like that?

Whatever bro, your game you do what you want with it, but in my opinion I would never control a franchise like that nor take advantage of a ******* computer. Sounds to me like its going to be quite a boring franchise.

Yes, this is disheartening. It really messes with the strategy for drafting and signing FA in franchise mode. I've seen so many posts where people write that they are rebuilding their team from the defensive line or the offensive line. I usually cringe when I read that - what a waste. It's sad because those people are actually using sound football philosophy. But let me tell you there is no reason to spend money or a high draft pick on an offensive lineman or defensive lineman. In real football there is a prevailing school of thought that you build from the inside out. Well, you're better advised to throw conventional wisdom out when speaking about Madden. You're better off building from the outside in. I'm loading up on cornerbacks before I splurge on dlinemen. They really need to fix the blocking engine in this game.

Bingo, you hit it dead on right there. Most important position in the game.
