U can waffle the rest of the trades about changing positions and blah blah blah but in no world does this trade happen:

-RE English for Cromartie/Cason/1.

I don't know what rating Larry English moves up to when at DE but it still wouldn't be worth a 1st rd pick, let alone Cromatie and Cason also.

I call BS.

Whatever bro, your game you do what you want with it, but in my opinion I would never control a franchise like that nor take advantage of a ******* computer. Sounds to me like its going to be quite a boring franchise.

Yes, this is disheartening. It really messes with the strategy for drafting and signing FA in franchise mode. I've seen so many posts where people write that they are rebuilding their team from the defensive line or the offensive line. I usually cringe when I read that - what a waste. It's sad because those people are actually using sound football philosophy. But let me tell you there is no reason to spend money or a high draft pick on an offensive lineman or defensive lineman. In real football there is a prevailing school of thought that you build from the inside out. Well, you're better advised to throw conventional wisdom out when speaking about Madden. You're better off building from the outside in. I'm loading up on cornerbacks before I splurge on dlinemen. They really need to fix the blocking engine in this game.

Bingo, you hit it dead on right there. Most important position in the game.

I would love for Teambuilder to come back after a few games and prove me wrong.

Yeah, I've tested this as well, and I sort of wish I didn't. It killed franchise for me.

I can't draft a lineman with my first pick and pretend I'm doing whats best for my team, when I know I could sign the worst players in the league to play in the trenches, and get exactly the same result.

Re: Best Defense I've Ever Had.

Moving the LBs to DEs to increase their overall is fairly cheap IMO. I can see moving a LB to DE to use him but to increase his trade value is cheap. If you were intending to get him then trade him then he should have remained a LB. To each his own though.

As for some of the other picks. Several of those top players would have never been traded IRL but it is your game. It is an extremely stacked defense. It will perform very well. I have found that getting 3 out of the 4 Dline 90+ overall players and great CBs will almost completely shut down offenses. I am currently using that forumla in my OF.(fantasy draft)

I have Mario Williams, Robert Mathis, Vince Wilfork, Falcons rookie DT, on my line. I have DRC Ike Taylor and Flowers at CB. I picked up Nelson for SS and a no name for FS(overall 66). I have Jonathan Vilma, Thomas Howard, and Timmions at LB. It was able to shut down a 90+ overall Oline and Chris Johnson for a .9 YPC on my friend who normally runs my defense over.

Building a stout defense and having a average offense will win you games. Plain and simple.
