So, I seem to remember reading on EA's blog some months ago that there would be some awesome animation or something if/when someone were to break 80's record. Not sure which record, but I'm wondering if anyone else remembers this. If so, has any one seen it? I'm not sure how one would go about doing this. Most of his records are almost unbreakable. Maybe if I sign T.O. and play a season of 15 minute quarter games on rookie or something?

I searched for this and didn't come up with anything. Was I dreaming or did you guys read about this too?

which record are you talking about? rice owns a few of them. and was 81 a typo in your post, or are you referring to something else?

i havent heard anything about a special animation, but if thats the case then maybe there are special animations for major rushing and passing records too.

haha, yeah the 81 was a mistake. it's 4 in the morning here.. lol

maybe the player brings the game ball to the sideline or something, and the announcer says something about it. cant imagine what else there would be.

If it was legit then that would be some serious work put in by that player(meaning on all pro or similar sliders)

I dont even think I would want to try and even do 15 min quarters with moss on rookie to break it because he is still so far away.

you could draft a stud wr in the first or 2nd draft, then sim a bunch of seasons. if he end up getting close to the record, start playing the games.

Well guys here is what I did. I created a qb put him on the Broncos and made Marshal and Royal a 99 overall. Then I moved the coaching slider all the way up to pass. Simmed a bunch of seasons and got within 300 yards of breaking Peyton Manning's career passing yards record so I played the next game.

During the game I broke the record and nothing special happened. Just said now holds career passing record or somthing like that.

So I am wondering if Ian was talking about breaking a record in Superstar mode.

So far all we know specifically is for emmitt's and jerry's record. Those are the only two that are mentioned. Has anyone done this yet???

Alright I'm gonna try and get Emmitts record just to see what happens. No way am I going to sit there and play every game to get it. I'm just going to start franchise with the Vikings and make Adrian Peterson as beast as I can make him and then adjust the sliders accordingly and sim every season until I get close.

EDIT: I decided to go with the Broncos and I made Knowshon Moreno a 99. Now time to start simming.

I broke season/game passing and receiving records and I haven't really noticed anything besides a pop up saying I broke the record. Maybe the career records have to be achieved?

It's the career records that need to be broken for Emmit and Rice.
