Stadiums Too Quiet (try this out)
I have a 7.1 surround system, and was very dissappointed with the stadium sounds in Madden. Today, I finally messed with the sound volumes, turning the Commentary down to 70 and leaving the rest alone, then pumping up my overall volume. It made the game feel far more realistic. The stadiums felt more alive. Give it a try and see if it makes a difference for you. -

Yep - works for me (though I don't have a sweet system like 7.1 - I have one of those "gamer chairs" with the speakers inside the chair, so it gives a nice impact - crowd right in my ears and you can feel the vibrations in the stadium music/hard hit effects/anything with high bass)"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18 -

Nice. For some reason it doesn't fire my bass off when I play the game. I figured it was just a sound/design thing on their part. Got a 400 watt bass just sitting there all quiet... was really expecting to hear some thuds when I cranked the volume after turning the commentary down.Comment

Thats what I have been doing, except I have everything down to about 50 and have the crowd pumped all the way up. The only thing is that's really bad about this is that you will hear the same noises over and over. For instance, you'll hear individual people say the same stuff over and over...it just gets really annoying.Comment

Re: Stadiums Too Quiet (try this out)
Ian had a video of the Falcons and Chiefs back before E3 that is on Youtube and the crowd sounds great and when I brought Madden home I made sure to do what you are all talking about right away. It helps a lot. Also, try turning the Player names to off in the presentation settings because in real life we can't see white names floating under the players as they run down field and that helps make the game LOOK better imo. Think about either playing with the blue and yellow lines on, or both off. In real life you can't see the lines, but if you are using broadcast view, use both lines like on TV. Also, turning the lines off on broadcast view kind of feels like you are up in the booth calling plays like the coordinators do.
Regarding the sound though, this is why a lot of people were upset when we didn't have team/stadium specific sounds like in last gen Madden games even though we were told they would be in the game. What made people even more upset is that Ian said he didn't want to tell us something was in the game unless he was 100% sure it was, and team/stadium specific chants and sounds are not in the game. I don't want this to turn into a flame thread, and this is a great idea that works, I just want to keep things real.[...] but what do I know? I'm just another Madden Head.Comment

Yeah I've been doing this since Madden/NCAA 06 on PS2. I love having the crowd blasting over the commentators when I pump them up in NCAA. Although in Madden this year it seems like the crowd isn't paying any attention to the game as they can be almost dead silent on big plays while going crazy pre-snap.NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

No, it's cranked. I can watch a movie and it will literally shake my roof and the windows (it's awesome), but in Madden there's nothing. Come to think of it, it may not just be Madden, it might be all the video games. I have the standard component connection (no HDMI) so maybe the bass isn't being conveyed properly? Ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. Would love to hear that thump, especially on the big hits.
My PS3 is hooked up, audio-wise, by the standard PS3 cable. It's connected to my TV via HDMI. Before the chair, I connected my speakers through my VCR - so no exotic connections for me.
You mentioned all your games weren't firing the bass - maybe it's something going on in your sound settings on your console?
Do you get bass when you watch a movie (i.e. do you watch the movies that give you bass on your console?) or play an MP3 on your console?
If those work - no idea"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Stadiums Too Quiet (try this out)
Definitely fires on the PS3 when I play games / movies, seems to be an XBox 360 issue. I checked the sound settings and it looks like you can only modify it if you have a Digital Output, which I'm not using, using component outputs. Not sure if the standard 360 has that option or if it's an elite only feature.Comment

Re: Stadiums Too Quiet (try this out)
I'm also using the standard component cables for my 360,BUT....I am also using the digital out (it plugs into the same part that plugs into your 360,and from there I plug the optical cable into my receiver... I hope that made sense..lol)
I get PLENTY of bass on hard hits, and my sub is only 120 watts (although it is a powered sub)People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

If I'm not mistaken, you DO need to have the digital cable plugged in to get true 5.1......or in your case 7.1People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

k, gonna have to check to see if there's an optical out on it. Definitely have a couple of optical ins still free on the tuner.Comment
