    Progressing Speed

Does anyone have a method to increase the speed of a player? I have noticed a cornerback's speed increase (only time I remember someone going from spd 90 to 99 over 2 seasons). Is CB the only position that increases speed or was that an arbitrary coincidence? I usually dont see my CBs get faster - just noticed that one player.

Thanks for the help - I am trying to bump a HBs speed (he is great, just cant bust big runs with 89 speed and I don't want to trade him).

It is kinda weird that you had a CB whose speed increased. Did you buy any DLC to get that? They said it was impossible for speed to increase in this game.

Speed generally doesn't increase from what I've seen, just acceleration.

You also lose speed once your player hits a certain age.

Actually you can increase a players speed rating during Franchise mode.

You have to hire a training staff .I usually get a trainning staff that increases the truckiing rating though.

I think certain coaches also have a speed increase.

          Hope this helps

Bingo - I double checked and my trainer gave SPD bonuses to my CBs. Wish the Madden dev team could put together a proper manual for their games.

Too Bad I have to wait another season to get the right trainer, hes going to be 26 already. I agree that trucking or elusiveness are more important, but this HB is mid to high 90s in everything but speed (its Sweetwater, the Sweetness clone).

Thanks for the help - I would have missed that.

I had Jamrion Bellows progress to 99 in his 3rd year and Reggie Bush did too at 28. This is not from trainers but just a progression. I have no idea of why. Also I saw Dane Morrow THP went from 97-99 in his 3rd year too.

Is it possible the progression is based off of actual stats like someone said long plays=progression in speed?

                  Really MV7 97 speed? Wow.

I played like 4 seasons with Vick. Won a SB or two. Mainly passing. HE didn't progress at all!!! He still has like what 90 speed?

He's 28 and has B potential, but I've nver seen him progress about 72 or whatever he is now.

Is progression stat + potential based?

Only thing I really hate is how Madden and NCAA draft class work together.

How does a player transition from college to the NFL and become slower?

CJ Spiller had 82 speed gtfoh lol.

Yeah, I agree. Some things change in the transition to the NFL (ball carrier vision, route running, throwing accuracy, discipline, etc.). Others are just things that are. Guys who run a 4.2 in college will be fast in the NFL. I am not sure why speed (or strength, acceleration, agility) should change drastically in the move to the NFL.

yeah to an extent. depending on what you do first and how well you do it (stat wise) until you hit the overall cap, then you can't go any farther.

and the friend that did that had a franchise where he basically just ran around with vick.

He could be slower relative to the overall speed at the NFL level vs. the NCAA level.

Yeah but an 82 is just a joke. He should be at least a 93/94.

Noel Divine had an 82 speed as well.

Needless to say a 5'8 back who's below 200 pounds and isn't fast went unsigned for pretty much his entire career.
