I'm done with "next gen" Madden for awhile and want to go back to the glory years on the ps2. Which would you recommend as the best Madden out of these three years? I figured I won't be taking too much of a risk since all of these versions will only cost around $1.

Or is another year better? I did play Madden 09 on the ps2 and wasn't too crazy about it so I am thinking one of these other older versions might be more fun to me.

Madden 2005 FTW. That, along with the Manifesto by SM27 provide a full sim experience. If you want, check out my Brown's franchise I just started using Madden 2005. After picking this up, I haven't looked back. Yea, that good.

Hey man, I would seriously look at 07. I know it wasn't on your list, but I think 07 was the best madden on last gen, especially for franchise. Madden 08 was just a rehash of 07 and I never played 09 so I can't tell you about that.

When you guys talk about Franchise, do you play your games or do you sim them?

I'd give Madden 09 another shot. I have that game and really enjoy it.

As for the older titles, 06 is a lot of fun. I was anti Vision Cone at first but now I really like the feature. 05 is great if you like to play defense; I think it's the toughest Madden out there in terms of difficulty.

You could just pick up 04, 05 and 06 and try them out for a week and then return the 1 or 2 that you don't like as much as the other, since you can return used games within 7 days at GameStop.

I would say, first, that you should give 09 another shot. What did you not like about it? I love the super sim feature, plus it has the feature from years past (07 i think) were you can change into a blocker on a run play so that the RB breaks for more yardage.

As far as older gen Maddens like Madden 05, a few questions:

1. Can I play it on my xbox360?

2. Is there a site where I can download the LATEST rosters for it, kinda like what 2k5rosters did?
