    Gameplan Idea

I was thinking it would be great to have a gameplan feature where you can set up a script or situational plays before a game.

The feature would occur prior to a game and you can set you first 15 plays. Then at the play call screen, the next play on your call sheet will just pop up. You can either select it or choose a different play.

You could also set your 3rd and Long, Short Yardage, 2 PT plays etc. Then you can have a feature to save and edit these gameplans.

    Anyone like this?

      Re: Gameplan Idea

      I do like the idea.

When a team scripts their first 15-25 plays, they don't call them in order obviously. They just know what 15-25 plays they want to run. This makes it much simpler for everyone to get ready and know what is comming. If you see an NFL playbook, they are huge. Scripting plays and the use of the QB cheat sheet they wear on their arms make play calling so much more streamlined.

I would like a weekly prep option and in that you can choose your 15 plays on offense and 15 plays for defense. It would be nice if the computer had to do the same thing and we were told a few plays [maybe 5 on offense and 5 on defense] that the computer will run in the game. This can be represented as film study. In fact, thinking as I type, it would be nice that depending on how many "hours" your staff is told to watch film, the more plays [to a max of 5 or 10 or so plays] your staff will uncover. Like how in the Superbowl, T. Porter said he was expecting that route to be run and that throw to be made and he was confident when he jumped the route for the pick 6. This was on film study and so forth. In my opinion though, this is too much to hope for to be in Madden 11.

Franchise depth and game play depth.

        Re: Gameplan Idea

I like the idea but I'd like to see it more generalized. Why can't we have basic game plans such as run the ball and stop their passing game? If you were able to focus on certain player match-ups in the game such as shut down Larry Fitzgerald and run behind Joe Thomas it could add the strategy element of Madden that has never been there. I liked your idea and would LOVE if they did ANYTHING with a sort of game plan because right now it just doesn't feel like I can use any strategy when playing.

I also think this would be great to have community intereaction with this feature. Maybe have an online component where users can exchange gameplans and ideas.

One thing I think Madden 10 did well was trying to get teams' individual styles down. In Madden, the Colts do run that Double In route with Wayne fairly often. I've played with most playbooks and the "Ask Madden" feature usually suggests the "staple" plays from that team or playbook. I'd really like to see more of this, but Madden 10 was a step in the right direction.

This is where I think the NBA Live DNA would be great for Madden, but of course that's been discussed a lot already.

I really like the original idea--it would bring so much strategy to the game to set up all of your plays before.

This would also be a great way to replace "Ask Madden."

I'd much rather be able to create and edit my own playbook, selecting the plays I like to run, and order them in the playbook based on the frequency / situation that I use them. I can't see myself ever creating a game script.

i would rather create my own plays or based off hot routes create plays that way, they can be a sub extension or even a separate audible like square and L3 then the other shapes

This idea has been suggested before. last year, the year before, and prior to that. EA for whatever reason doesn't want stuff like this in madden.
