I just wonder does the Development team even know these videos exist?

I have been playing maddens since the get-go and I thought madden 10 was good. Sure it had it's flaws, but hey, just MHO. Now, that being said, seriously, why cannot we address the tackling and make it more violent, impacting? All those vids are right on and all the comments are the same.

I think we just have to accept it for what it is because the engine just cannot create these tackles or for some strange reason the dev team will not implement them, and I cannot for the life of e understand why they would choose to do this. I guess we are stuck till the exclusive license is up OR we get the PS4 or the xbox equivelant. Sucks but it's the way it is.

Re: REAL-time tackles need to be addressed period

You can make as many vidz, and ask for as many improvements as you want. It probably won't help. I don't care how many issues Madden has, no one can tell me that Ian and Co, at heart, don't want to make the best Football game ever made. You will never make me believe that. As it stands now, Madden is not that game. So there are only two possible scenarios why this would be the case.

Either A, the current team is not that talented or B. they are talented enough, but can not make the game that they want due to limitations with the tools that they have available and the time constraints that they have to work under, ie a mandatory yearly release. There are no other possibilities. I tend to believe it's B. So where does that leave the fans that aren't happy with the game? No where really.

I'm not saying that Madden can't be improved. I'm sure it can be. I'm sure that 11 WILL be an improvement over 10. Call me crazy but I believe that. But as far as you seeing sweeping changes that will make this game do everything that many sim players think that it should do, like real time tackling, or any other major improvements that you would like to see, I'm sorry, but I don't see that happening. Not with them using the same engines, that's right, engines plural, that they are now.

People can flame me. The mods can ban me, but I'm am just being real. I'm not bashing, I'm just being realistic. Look, when the devs tell you that they can't do something as simple as make the Football smaller because it will ruin all the animations in the game... y'all don't hear me let me say that again, when the devs tell you that they can't shrink the Football because it will basically break the whole game, where do you go from there? If shrinking the Football breaks the game, please somebody explain to me how you expect them to make real time dynamic tackles?

I'm not saying that the game can't be improved in its current state, and I'm not saying that you shouldn't talk about everything that you would like to see in the game. Hell, sometimes that's more fun to me than playing the game itself. I love talking about this stuff. But if you really want to see wholesale improvements, and I don't mean improvements, but I mean like Earth shattering improvements, your best bets are:

EA hires another development team to work on a totally new Madden while the current team tweaks the current iteration yearly until the new one is ready. Or...

Back Breaker delivers on its promise in spades and EA licenses the tech to put it in Madden.

I don't see any other way unless you count waiting till next gen. Because even if it's the worst case scenario, and Ian and Co just aren't that talented, which I doubt, even if they replaced them, the new team would still be using the same tools and still under the same time constraints. Now maybe Ian and Co do what they did with locomotion this year and make it an annual thing where they rip out an old engine and put in a totally new one. You would still be looking at a while before the game can do what many would like it to do.

This is just the way I see it. Feel free to disagree. I appreciate the community and have enjoyed my discussions, good and bad, with all.

LT;

I'm sorry I'm not quoting your whole entire post, but I'm impressed.

Good long analogy.

I thought it was a real stand up thing when they came out and said that about the ball size. I think alot of folks get frustrated when they don't come out and tell the reasons behind why some of these other things aren't or can't be in the game. Much like they did with the ball size issue.
