How stupid are EA, seriously?

Last year when Madden 10 came out, the replays were never long enough so you only got to see half the play for long plays usually. They then released a patch half way through the year to give us full length replays.

Madden 11 comes out and they give us half length replays yet again Words fail me sometimes

He's talking about the automatic cut scene replays in-game...the ones that come with an EA wipe effect. They end abpruptly, and they do.

I don't think that makes EA stupid though.

It would be great if EA would address this in a patch. It really annoys me to perform a great play and want to see it on the replay, but when I go into the instant replay, the beginning of it is 3/4 of the way through the play and you can't go any further back.

Seems like it would be an easy fix

That would be fantastic... also, I noticed another annoyance in the demo that hopefully will be corrected in the full version... occasionally when the refs would bring out the chains to measure for a first down the camera gets all goofy and points toward the ground so you can't see anything... I'll say a silent prayer that this is fixed in the retail version or is soon patched if it isn't.

This doesn't make any sense. This is the reason why plenty of people dislike EA. How can you go from patching in something to make it perfect only to release the next iteration of the game with the same problem?

I think there's a couple things that were patched in...I don't know anything about game development, but maybe it's easier just to patch it for this year too, as opposed to fixing it...truly I have no idea why? Or maybe it's just for the demo, and full retail will be different

I would assume this problem happens because they simply copy & paste code from the previous game and then forget to re-edit it ... not an excuse for messing it up on their part, but I guess as long as they fix it once again im good with it.

Don't you think they would copy and paste the patched version LOL. Really doesn't make sense. Patching games is wonderful and really has taken gaming to another level, but in my opinion it has also allowed developers to release games that should have been delayed until finished (Backbreaker)

this always seems to happen, and just adds fuel to the fire when it comes to calling out this dev team..

I remember several examples of issues being patched, and then they were magically back the next year.

Field degradation was one of them. Dirty uniforms was another. Replay length another, players running out of bounds another..
thats just off the top of my head.

do they not have some kind of code version management or something?

Yeah there was some kind of patch for replays last year (PS3 I think), but it didn't work that well.

I had a ton of replays (mostly TDs) completely cut off half way through.

Sorry, I’m confused—are we talking replays from the demo only, or has it been confirmed that this is happening in the retail version?

If retail, then yes, it’s very perplexing. How do you patch an issue one year and then allow it to happen again the next? This is an example of why August always has the feel of a beta release with the final release coming two patches later.

Unless we’re talking demo, in which case I stand corrected.
