Play Designer Feature?
Will this be in Madden 11? If not can you still import playbooks from PSP to PS3?
Thanks!!Tags: None -
Re: Play Designer Feature?
Most of the commonly used concepts are represented in Madden as is, so I don't really need a play designer, just a playbook editor would suit me fine. I want Split Pro, Near Pro, Far Pro, the twins versions of all of those, plus I Pro, Strong Pro, and Weak Pro, plus the twin TE versions of those sets. That would satisfy me, but nobody runs that particular combination. There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.
The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

Re: Play Designer Feature?
i agree with this. i wouldnt mind a create a play feature (similar to the last gen one), but i can get by without it. actually the same goes for playbook editor. it would be nice to create playbooks with a specific philosophy in mind, but i can get by without it. i would only ever use those 2 functions on PC anyway. doing it on 360 (or ps3) is annoying. Most of the commonly used concepts are represented in Madden as is, so I don't really need a play designer, just a playbook editor would suit me fine. Re: Play Designer Feature?
Sure, but as pointed out by adembroski, you can't hot route formations. Another problem is that Madden just doesn't have all the routes that some systems use, like Martz' system, which often times has more rounded off routes (if you look at many of his deep ins, for example, the player might take five vertical yards moving on a curve to go from running vertical to parallel with the line of scrimmage). I assume this is featured in his offense to help keep the receiver from slowing down very much during changes of direction.

Re: Play Designer Feature?
I'd like to know some of the plays you guys would create, if a play creator was available. It just seems like Madden has most all bases covered on offense, and a system like a play creator would probably be more trouble (cheating, glitches) than it's worth.
But i could be wrong of course, so thats why i'm asking: What plays would need to be created that aren't there now?Comment

Re: Play Designer Feature?
EA continues to not give gamers customizable games. Slip slip slipping.
The lack of play designer/creator/editor is why I haven't played Madden more than a week or two.
Madden 08 for the PC has a decent play editor/creator (mod needed).Comment

Re: Play Designer Feature?
i remember back on madden like 2004 or something i would create routes where the receiver would first do a hitch, THEN do a fly, and for some weird reason they were wide open every time. which is why i am in favor of NOT inculding a play creator.. cause dudes think its a life skill to exploit madden and it would end badlyEagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

Re: Play Designer Feature?
Im a rather creative person and i'd like the ability to utilize that.
Also if i happen to draft a freak or a form a team that is unconventional. I would like to create some playes to take advantage. Even if offline only like it was last gen.Comment

Re: Play Designer Feature?
I don't see why a play editor would be bad thing if it's strictly for offline. If some guy wants to brag about finding some exploit to get a touchdown every play would anyone even care? And really, often times when I'm bored in class I'll sit there and draw crazy plays on my notebook, I would have a blast with it.
I think they took it away just to cover themselves from potential holes.
I don't see why we couldn't have a playbook editor though.
Maybe you want to get a bunch of NO specific plays and AZ specific etc etcComment

Re: Play Designer Feature?
Play editor wouldn't be glitchy if it gave you routes to choose from instead of letting you create your own.Comment

Re: Play Designer Feature?
What I meant was, you can't basically create a formation while at the line of scrimmage. This is different than your usual hot route, where you can actually create route combinations that are not in the game at the line of scrimmage. So basically you can compensate for when route combinations that are not in the game, but you can't do it for formations.
So basically it's an argument as to why simple hot routes cannot duplicate all the features that a playbook editor can.
Also, sorry about taking a few days to get back to you. I didn't see your question.
I agree that's what they need to do, but I would be happy juts with the ability to chose from formations already in the game.https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2049813056Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image
