Sorry if this has already been posted but it bears repeating.

99.9% of the time you have JUST enough time to fake the handoff before being sacked.

It makes an important part of the passing game worse than useless.

I have the same problem, which makes me tend to shy away from PA passes...

I love the PA passing. PA should only give you so much much time, especially against an aggressive rush or blitz. If I see the defense loading up for a run-blitz or stacking the line I usually leave a TE (and a FB depending on the formation) in to block to give me more time...especially for posts and go's that take more time to develop. It's all about recognizing the defense and where the pressure may come from when you fake the run.

The PA works great for me , you need to pound the rock before calling them, and the Shotgun PA works even better, only problem is works really good against you to

This ^, if you've got your opponent blitzing because he now respects the run, then the above are the necessary steps you need to take to neutralize the blitz, so your receivers have time to work downfield.

Though I would like to see better blocking when you have a hat on a hat as it seems the RG is consistently beat after the snap.

Well, I'll go back to working harder on setting up the PA better then, because I'm getting dumped pretty regularly too LOL. But I do think it's because I'm not working hard enough on the setup.

I use the Seahawks and Matt's got a very high PA rating, but it hasn't saved him so far.

But dont get me wrong have I been crushed before even faking the PA? Bet your *** I have.... and I'm not saying its perfect, but if you use it a few times a game after running for a first down or two it works well enough.... and your title should have been

LMAO @ 99.9% of the time... Sure buddy. You just need to UP your football IQ and play the game with more skill. Unless you want last year's version were every player bit on the PA even on situations like 3rd and 20.

Guys are just used to FLAWS that were in last years gaem and then think that improvements made to the game are messed up lol. This Madden is awsome!

There's a chess match to football that needs to be represented...

Draw plays are to the passing game as PA plays are to the running game. The irony is that they finally got draws to work as PA is now broken.

It doesn't need fixed. I thought it was broke when I got the game as well. But it's not broke. You just can't use Play Action passes until you actually set up the run. If you run a bit and set it up, you will have time to do the PA pass. If you just run a PA pass out of nowhere without setting it up first you'll probably get sacked.

To me it's actually great that people can't just run PA pass without ever rushing the ball first like in all of the past EA football games. It was always one of my biggest pet peeves about how PA worked. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, as others said, people are just too used to past EA football games flaws. PA is actually realistic now. If you never run to set it up it won't work but it shouldn't work in that situation.

Completely agree with this statement. But what they do need to do is fix GAMEFLOW so it's not calling play action passes before the run has been set up. What I find myself having to do is audible to another play every time they call PA too early in the game.

EDIT: By fix I mean adding some kind of knowlege of plays ran up to this point in a game and their relative success to alter the weighting of PA plays vs non-PA plays in the game plan.

I just got a cheesy 70 yd play off of PA.


Having said that, in franchise mode, it appeared to me that the QB rating PA plays a big role. I was always getting sacked/pressured when Romo was the starter, but when I got one of the great QBs in the draft, I could PA all day. Anyone else notice this?

I often hot route a FB or TE to block if I think a blitz is coming. Could have a little more time to throw PA, but it's not too terribly bad.

It helps to call a roll out PA pass to start with. That buys some extra then. Then move to the fake hand offs into the drop back passes. Those are harder to execute, easier to get sacked.
