How to fix Kickoff Returns, imo

I've seen a few people say that kickoffs are too easy. I'm not sure why they say that, because in my offline games both the CPU and myself are lucky to get to the 20, and a great return is to the 31.

But, I'm terrified to suggest that they make it easier, because one of the biggest problems with high scoring madden games in recent memory have come from 2 or 3 KO returns for TDs per game. So, I think I might have a solution, that needs only a slight patching assist.

By lowering Kickoff power slider to 0, you won't see quite as many deep kicks with high powered legs. Even at 0, Mason Crosby (99 power) can hit the endzone routinely. But the 86 power guys will kick to the 5. The result is the same bad blocking and poor return, but you end up around the 26 yard line and every so often on the 35.

Now, if EA would patch the kickoff slider so that default 50 was the same as it is at 0, players could adjust themselves.

Just a thought. Am I stupid?

I don't know what to tell ya, don't have a problem with k/o, run 2 to 3 back a season, avg 25 to 30 a return, feels about right to me.

I just bought the full game yesterday, but in my experience with the demo (which I played A LOT) and my few games yesterday, I've only had one kick return that brought me past the 25. I'm glad that its not as easy to return kicks for touchdowns now, but I'd like it if somebody who has 'figured out' the return game could give me some tips? I'm not expecting to return every kick past the forty, but I just feel like I am currently absolutely hopeless to break past the 25 unless kicking team severely scews up their coverage... at which point I will make it an extra five yards or so before getting tackled :wink:

Your blockers only block for return middle, return left and right and you will barely get to your 20. That's why some are saying it's too easy and others complain of getting no blocks.

the problem is that there's one way to consistantly get KR and PR touchdowns if you know the trick, but nearly impossible to get them if you don't.

I'm not particularly good a returning kicks, but I've returned a few for TD's. You have to make sharp cuts with the left stick and get the defense off balance. It's hard to defend kick returns if the dude is good at it.

In my offline Franchise i had none until Week 8 against the Pats, got one in that game and then my most recent game (Week 9) i had another against the Cards, but besides them two i've been getting to the 20-25.

I've returned around 6 of them by first running to the middle of the field to get all the defenders going that way, and then bounce it to the outside.

It is easy, it's the poor pursuit by the coverage teams, if the kick is anything but straight down the middle i'd say i can return it for a TD with about 90% certainty. Just cut it back inn towards the middle and when the coverage starts to go inn as well cut it back towards the ouside and you're gone untouched. I had 4 in 1 game a couple of days ago i've lost count of how many i've taken back since getting the game last week

are you kidding me? kickoffs are hard as hell to return this year, I have yet to return one past the 30 yd line. Punt returns however are much more balanced.

I've yet to play a game offline, but I'm 5-1 online and I've only seen one kick return TD so far, which came against me in my first game and was largely my own fault. I don't think I've ever returned a kick past the 30.

I love how punt returns and kick returns are this year it feels like the perfect balance. I really hope it doesn't get changed.

If you choose return middle u have a higher chance to return it

if you choose choose return middle 2 its much harder IDK Why but it just is
