NEW OVERTIME RULE DOESNT WORK
Played a conference championship game against the Saints. I was so excited it reached overtime and the commentators were talking about it and on the screen as well it explains the new rule changes. Played the OT, Saints got the ball first, drove all the way to the 30, kicked a field goal and GAME OVER. WTF???Tags: None -

Happened to me... they kicked the FG and Gus Johnson screamed COLTS WIN... and then they had to kick off to me after and I drove for a TD and the win.Comment

Re: NEW OVERTIME RULE DOESNT WORK
In real life there isn't, but I left it on to keep single player challenging since this isn't my money and I wouldn't care to dish out 100 million per player.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: NEW OVERTIME RULE DOESNT WORK
This is just ridiculous. One guy gets the ball after the field goal (after Gus declares a winner) and another has the game end after a field goal.
What the hell? How does something like this break? Who is coding over there at Tiburon?Comment

Re: NEW OVERTIME RULE DOESNT WORK
I was just about to post a thread about this and the search function (very nice by the way) showed a couple similar threads, so sorry for the necro, but I was pretty annoyed.
I got the JIM Harbaugh led Niners to the Superbowl in the third year of a franchise I was actually playing quite a few of the games in, so I had some actual vested interest in the team I built. And of course as luck would have it, my opposition is the JOHN Harbaugh led Ravens, so I just had to play this game.
I also wanted to test out a new slider/speed setup and figured this would be the perfect game to do it in.
Back and fourth game. Long runs, surprisingly long passes. Score for score and the Ravens kick a 48 yard field goal that bounces in off the bottom cross bar of the goal post with 30 seconds to go in regulation to tie. That kinda game.
So I get into overtime totally stoked at how good the slider/speed set played.
Ravens win the toss. Receive. First play from scrimmage, I blitz into a Fing draw to Ricky Williams (surprised he hadn't retired yet) who runs 80 F-ing yards for a TD! HOLDING! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Suck it Mr. Blindside!
The Ravens then proceed to march on me to the 30, where I stuff them on 3 consecutive running plays and Patrick Willis gets some revenge on Williams by sending him off on the cart.
48 yard field goal attempt. Bounces in off the upright! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
Ok well at least with the new overtime rul- WHAT THE F**K IS WITH THE CONFETTI!!
I'll say it again, I am annoyed.
These are the things that make me want to punch the developers. Not the things that don't exist like physic DBs and LBs, or the occasional stat anomaly.
Something like this should be found in the testing phase shouldn't it? I mean, I can't imagine that Madden could possibly short of testers that would probably work for free. No one thought to check to make sure one of the most controversial rule changes in quite a while actually worked?
Now, of course reading through the thread, I noticed that on one occasion the ending was triggered, but the game kept going, and on other times it didn't. I am wondering if because of the TD that was called back, that the CPU only registered it as a score and disregarded that it was called back and that that somehow that made it go into sudden death mode. I'm thinking that since the score didn't trigger the ending, it chalked it up as a field goal and that the CPU doesn't differentiate between WHO scored, just that there was a score and now it is sudden death.
That I could forgive as a bug that would be hard to catch. If not though...

Anyways, Im the Pats playing Buffalo, and the game goes to OT.
The Bills get the coin toss, and get close enough to succesfully kick a FG. Im of course thinking... "OK I get the ball back."
Suddenly the confetti starts flying with the Bills are jumping around and Im like "What the heck?"... Just as soon as Im ready to rant about the game being bugged the Bills are suddenly back on the field kicking to me.
Low and behold I get a TD... and the confetti starts flying again only this time my guys are jumping around...
Aaanyway long story short something is definetly bugged here. In my story there was no scoring that was brought back by a penalty.. so maybe thats why my outcome was different. But something is bugged.
It's been this way for 2 years as you can tell when you went "necro" and brought back a year old thread.
I doubt they'll fix if they even know its bugged.Last edited by kpkpkp; 10-04-2011, 09:48 AM.Comment

"True to the Game."
This is why there's so much angst towards EA. They don't care about the product that they put out.
There is nothing that any apologist can say to excuse the fact that the overtime rules don't apply in Madden.Comment
