Madden 11 Ultimate Team Official Thread
I have not seen a thread dedicated to Ultimate Team so I thought I would start one to discuss strategies for building a team and auction house. Mods, would it be possible to stickie this to the top of the forum? Thanks, -
Re: Madden 11 Ultimate Team Official Thread
I'm 56 games in on MUT and my team is still a 66. The good news is that my Chemistry is 83 so I can compete with some pretty good teams. The challenge for me has been getting a consistent amount of Cashflow to really start buying some quality card packs and players. Here is my new strategy.
Buy Bronze and Silver Packs, keep the contracts and cards i need to complete collections. I post the rest of the cards on the Auction Block. I also set the auction end time for the evening because that is when most players are buying cards. Most auction buyers like to buy cards that are expiring soon so 24 hour auctions are somewhat of a waste since you can usually sell a card in an hour or two if posted at the right time.
So far this strategy is working. I'm stockpiling more contracts, building up my cash reserves through auction sales, and filling my card collections more quickly. I have ony been doing it for a day, but as this process snowballs, I will be able to start buying better card packs and better players.
On the auction house, i have found that coaches, and playbooks sell pretty well. Also specialty players (K, P) or players that you need a lot of (WR, CB, OL, DL) sell well on the auction block. -

I'd like to have a bask on UT as I enjoyed it on Fifa however I have a few possible issues...
A). Do we now pay to play online on top of our Xbox Live subscription?
B). Madden 10 was full of cheesers online... Am I going to see the same in UT on M11?Comment

Ah right, the online pass makes sense now, I'd got it in my head that you had a month free with the code in the manual, then paid per month.
I might have a looky tonight after work and see what it's like.
Nice to hear about the lack of cheese too! Cheers for that!!Comment

I don't know how people are able to afford to add so many contract games to just one player or why they do it but in the Auction House if you sort by contract length you'll likely find some players with 50-100 games left on their contract. Divide the price by the number of games left on contract to determine if it's a worthwhile purchase.
Grab some rookies or gold players with a lot of games left on their contract and you'll be set at that position for a while.Comment

View Opponent Lineup
Not sure I like this feature. Nobody wanted to play me when I had Ricky Williams in my lineup.
Thankfully, I was able to sell him for 16,500 coins...because he's a Texas Longhorn.Comment

Originally posted by bxgoodsBaseballslim, people afford the contracts when they powerbuy packs looking for a player. Some players buy coins and just buy 20 ultimate packs or more at one time. Every ultimate pack you buy has a legendary contract in it, so if you powerbuy 20 ultimate packs and only get two good players out of it. Your going to have a lot of extra contract cards, so they just stack it on one player to make room for other cards.
OIC.
I got jipped! I bought an ultimate pack last night (for a chance to grab Elite Willis) and only got a Gold Contract card. This was on PS3.Comment
