AI not calling for fair catch??

?? I don't know how many of you have notice. But it seems since patch 3 came out that the AI no longer calls fair catch on punt returns when you get near him before he catches it. It catches and tries to run with it. Don't really understand what went wrong with it. Hmm I really hope EA madden crew does 1 more patch update to fix some of these small problems.

Whats worse is that they sometimes **** you over. I had it where they did not call a fair catch and i smashed into the player, caused a fumble and I get flagged for interferring with a fair catch.

I've seen the Comp call for fair catches several times since the patch. Not sure why you would be having a different outcome. Unless it is a glitch that only affects the 360 (doubt it), or the patch is not playing nicely with your sliders (wouldn't know as I never mess with them).

Not having this problem at all.
I played a game last night against the Ravens (which I lost 16-12) in which the a.i had no problem in calling for a fair catch.

Having played several games,I've never seen this. I do however change the angle of my punts depending on field position.

One of my punts last night,the receiver had an 8-10 yard cushion from the defender,and still called for a fair catch,so I'm not sure what the problem is.
I for one don't see this as a problem,and I wish folks wouldn't be so hard pressed to call for a "correction" so fast, as it doesn't seem to be a wide spread issue.

I have not noticed this either. I'm playing on the 360 and fair catches seem to be unchanged. Occasionally they will not make a fair catch when they probably should... but I haven't seen them stop making them altogether.

I have a problem with them not signaling for one, and I hit them and get a penalty as well.

i've had them not call a fair catch plenty of times, but it's because they've got blockers. if i'm the only guy down there and the return man has two guys in front of him, he's not calling it regardless of where i am.

Sometimes they call the fair catch the moment it is kicked and that may be why some of you are getting penalties. When they call it this soon you don't normally see it.

Im on the PS3 and im seeing exactly what you just described.
