    Who is Clutch?

Carrying on from the should rookies be clutch! The thread has been taken over somewhat in parts.
So here is a seperate thread to give your 10 names example can be more or less who YOU feel are clutch.
Maybe we can get some figures sorted at some stage to see who are the concensus!

    1. Brady
    2. Roethlisberger (not a fan but he is)
    3. Manning
    4. Ray Lewis
    5. Roddy White
    6. Larry fitzgerald
    7. Rodgers
    8. Polamalu
    9. Revis
    10. Clay Matthews.
Supporting Brighton, Buccs & UCF Knights
    Headcoach was amazing.

      Re: Who is Clutch?

I would replace Clay Mathews with Charles Woodson. Mathews has made some big plays at end of games, but Woodson has made more over the last two years(same sample size for both players.)
When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”

First guy that comes to my mind is Roethlisberger. Not a fan, but he is clutch.

            Matt Ryan
            Holmes
            Brady
            Ed Reed
            Troy P
            Nick Collins
            Fitzgerald
            Adam Vinatieri
            Big Ben
            P. Manning
            ----------------------

I struggled with those names. The list ofr clutch players shouldnt be longer than 25 players....It was hard for me to get 10 sure fire players so i figure that a list of 25 will consist of a few tweeners

To those that have listed defensive players, how are you making that judgement?

Not an attack, I'm just curious.

Haha, kind of agree with you on this one, but lets not start that debate in other thread.

To add onto this, I think it's kind of silly that EA made a clutch rating but didn't make a choke rating. I really hope they add this in or some variation of it in M13.

I like the idea but I couldn't imagine EA would put that in the game.

                        Re: Who is Clutch?

Clutch is a weird term in sports because it can fluctuate so easily. I am a Patriots and Brady fan but look at his last few postseason games. Not too clutch. Roethlisberger didn't look too clutch in the Super Bowl. Brees against the seahawks is another example. Then look at the other way sanchez and hasselbeck looked clutch in the early rounds than not so much in later ones. Another nonfootball example would be lebron. He was the definition of clutch vs the celtics sand bulls and now he's unclutch.

So what I am trying to say clutch shouldn't be automatic or stay with the same people the whole season. It should fluctuate.

There is only one place in this thread where "making plays" is used and you seem to take that phrase from its original context and change it. And I really don't get the point you are trying to make. Please elaborate.

He is probly saying that clutch doesn't really exhist. Good players make plays. For every "clutch" game we remember, there is a game where he isn't clutch. So the clutch rating makes someone clutch every time? Kinda silly.

You are mentioning all playoff games, which would go under the role "playoff performer."
