Block Shedding?

WTF does this rating even mean? I mean seriously. I always thought it supposed to mean how good a player is at getting off blocks, in the run game to be specific. I guess I was wrong because one the best run defenders in Trent Cole has a 76 block shedding rating while the Ravens Paul Kruger has a 85. Kruger is just one of anumbers of guys.

PS: Cole's 76 Tackle rating is a joke aswell

In my experience, Block shedding works more for pass rushing and Pursuit works more for defending the run.

Block Shedding skill comes into affect on running plays.

Wouldn't say his tackle rating is a joke, he's pretty finesse. . . however yes he is one of the best run stoppers in the NFL. Power Moves and Strength block shed all factor into the run game. Trent Coles 97 finesse needs to drop to about 87-88 and power moves need boosted to about 84-85.

He's not some unstoppable pass rushing force that the game has him rated as.

He's not some unstoppable pass rushing force that the game has him rated as.

He has over 370 tackles over the last 5-6 years to Terrell Suggs' 408 (aprox) who has a 87 in tackling. Cole should be a 83-84 at the least.

And he's rarely injured. I'm pretty sure he never missed a game to injury. His 89 rating in that category should be higher.
