True Motion Mapping - Too Difficult?

I just came across this old video and it made me wonder how realistic it would be to have this type of thing mapped to the R-Stick somehow...

    <object width="420" height="345"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rroRNqBaF4w?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rroRNqBaF4w?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="345" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Like I said... I know it is an old video, but that play is amazing.

That type of stuff is in the game with the analog stick...u might not see that same exact animation with the stiff arm and spin but it's there. So much so that He was called the human joystick and when he made those type of plays they would say it looks like something out of madden.

Well, we lost the "back juke" from last gen. Now we have some strange animation that people like to show off as they run in for the TD.

This really looks more like something you would get out of 2k5 after you fill up the charge and flick the R-Stick. I would brutalize people online with Kevin Faulk on punt returns online by doing this. I would also do things like this on simple 5 yard out routes to the slot receiver [very similar to the video.] They took this out of 2k8 though.

I forgot we lost the back juke....watching this made me think back to the older madens when I would trade for hall in my franchise mode and try to pull off some of his crazy returns. The back juke never seemed to work the way it should if I remember correctly. I think if they fine tuned it and created more animations for it we would have got more use out of it. They should deffinately look into bringing it back next year.

I saw this guy first hand all the time and let me say, this guy was the exception to any set of juke moves. If this was in Madden it should only work with a handful of guys and not as a universal juke.

Madden should be like NBA2k in the sense that certain animations are only for those with high attributes in a certain area. Then they could have some jaw-dropping moves like the ones in this vid that only the most agile players could pull off... Just a thought

Yeah, but isn't it now back on the Left stick? anyway the animation they replaced it with is like a move to dodge ankle taps/diving tackles at the end of your run. Even though those tackles havent been added till this year, which is awesome.

how hard is it to get a huge developing team together, dividing the mass amount of developers up into 32 teams, all studying one specific team; their movements, their tendencies, reactions, anything they do. now i dont expect ea sports to do anything like this but one day i think we will have a football game that actually pleases us. just something ive been thinking about.

on another note, madden 12 looks a lot better than any other madden for next gen. they did a lot better and cant wait to see whats in store for next year.

Re: True Motion Mapping - Too Difficult?

I thought one of the great things Tiburon did this gen is the juke they implemented on the right stick, I think back w/next gen Madden 07 or 08. The problem is it's almost completely useless, because the movement of the other players on the field isn't momentum-based. And as usual they never built on/improved it.

Oh man! That reminds me of the back juke from past Maddens. How I miss that. So, so, so many dudes handled with the back juke. Untouchable lol

Like spank, I also think the juke is useless in Madden. Unlike spank, I think that it is a problem with the juke itself, as well as the fact that there is no momentum to get the defenders out of position.

The animation itself is pretty poor in my opinion as well as the amount of distance that it covers. The lack of mo though is a huge part of it.

There was so much we can do with last gen madden that is lost with current gen.

The whole controller setup back then gave us more control.

                            We had the following.
Juke left and right - right analog stick pushed to the left or right
Quick juke left and right - right and left bumbers.
Stiff arm and switch hands. Triggers left and right.
Truck over power move - Right anolog stick pushed up
Back juke - right anolog sitck pulled down.
spin move - B button or square button. XBOX and PS3
Hurrdle - Y button or triangle button - XBOX and PS3
Dive - x button or circle button - XBOX and PS3
                            Speed burst - A button or X button - XBOX and PS3

Why they changed the setup we had before is very unfortunate.

It's easier. For one, it's easier for a disabled gamer (me). For two, they only removed back juke, maybe quick juke, and consolidated the controls.
