I've been a proponent of this for a long time now, but most people are dead set against this ever changing. They love the easy passing that they have been using for over 25yrs and don't want to learn, nor can they fathom, that there might actually be something better than what was created on 8bit hardware a Silver Anniversary ago

This is the reason why, to this day, I still pop in Backbreaker, and enjoy the game, despite it's many flaws.

It's a damn shame that innovation is dead.

As crazy as it sounds, that was never the primary goal of the game. It was to showcase the engine. They know nothing about American Football and didn't have a litany of NFL consultants bought and paid for to fill in the blanks. It was also their first attempt at a Football game ever, and they didn't try to copy and paste from what was already available. Quite admirable and yet it is not surprising that there were so many missteps.

What is surprising, and quite damning to me, is that despite all of what I just typed, that they managed to get things right that others never could, even though they had all of the advantages I listed, that Natural Motion lacked.

Again, it is a travesty that innovation is dead.
