It's a glaring example.

This isn't broken. People keep using the term broken. 8-10 qbs in a round is broken. 1 qb that is probably rated higher than the qb on the roster going to the same team that took a qb in the first the previous year is not idea but is in no way broken. its perfectly understandable with binary coding for something like this to happen in my opinion. But fact is that this is not broken draft logic it's just not ideal.

Ofcourse they weren't. Anyone defending the draft logic here needs to step out of the clouds and step back into reality.

They weren't but what would it matter. What we are talking about is a team using a high draft pick that basically nullifies a recent previous pick because they see an upgrade possible at the same position.

Using this logic, had the Colts had the 1st ovr pick in 1999, they shouldve taken Tim Couch @ QB since Peyton Manning had a poor rookie season.

Lol, what does it matter? It matters a great deal. A high pick and the No 1 overall pick are different. If Luck fell to the teens and Carolina took him, you could sell me that. But no 1 overall? No way, nothing you say can convince me otherwise.

It's a glaring example. Read youALREADYknow's post's 3rd paragraph.
It is an example of this being a videogame. You want draft logic that is a perfect replica of real life. You are not getting it anytime soon.

I see your angle, but EA touted this as (draft logic) fixed. This is why many are concerned.

Beat me to it.

I would say try and edit Cam to be designated as a Franchise QB and see if they draft another QB in the 1st round.

A team will do a Draft-n-Trade if that guy is the Top Player in the draft.
Even if it's a position you've drafted in 1st round the year before.

Sometimes you can get more by taking a guy that some teams despirately need vs doing a straight Draft Pick swap.

You would be amazed at the Chess games that go on during a Draft.

I've heard coach's tell me that they've drafted a guy just so he wouldn't go to a team in their division, especially QB's as the success of the season are built around these guys. (including back-ups).

The issue is that the Draft Logic might not be programmed to operate in such a manner.

I'll have to take a deeper look into the effect of the designations on Draft Logic for myself.
