Can't kick a PAT??

For the life of me I can't kick a PAT in this game. Kick a field goal? Forget about it. I never had a problem in Madden 11 with kicking unless it was online because of lag. But this isn't online. I missed 5 straight PATs very badly. I understand they might have wanted to make kicking a bit more challenging but kicking a PAT should never be that hard, it's a layup.

I tried adjusting the special teams sliders but had to back out of my franchise and go to the main menu because there is no option to change those sliders in Franchise Mode, even when playing a game. But even after adjusting the sliders I'm still having issues. I went back and read the manual. What gives? Anybody else having issues kicking field goals?

its not that hard to kick... press a once at the top and then again in the white bar at the bottom... maybe your not pressing it the second time (third if you count the one that starts the bar moving)?

Don't use full power, and make sure you hit the white line.

I didnt have a hard time hitting FGs or PATs. I noticed that when adjusting against the wind the littlest bit you move the directional arrow can affect which way it goes is pretty good.

I feel really dumb but that wasn't working. I would press X to fill the meter and the X in the top of the meter and the X at the white line, except no matter what the meter wouldn't stop at the white line. It would just keep going. Even when I lowered the power of my kick. I'll try again today though and see if I can get it down.

same thing happens to me. i try to stop it at the bottom and it seems like it just keeps going. i tried pressing A before the white line and after it. sometimes it stops, but most of the time it doesn't. i don't even want to play my next franchise game until i figure it out because i keep missing

thats odd.....I have been playing the retail version for almost a full week now and havent had any problems at all with the accuracy meter. Sounds like there is an issue with the controller or the game or something because it is extremely easy to kick extra points unless you completely miss the accuracy bar.

your button on the controller is probably going out. have tried switching to another controller?

Here's what's really odd. It only did that for one game. That single game I couldn't make a PAT for the life of me. I thought it was me. After playing several more games the issue never came back. I haven't done anything different. It simply works again like it should. Either it was a bug just for that game or maybe my kicker was having issues for that one game. Either way it was strange.

Since they brought back the ol' kick meter, I'll tell you my ol' trick as my buddies used to miss field goals all the time, and I often beat them, because I never missed mine.

On PATs, the kicker doesn't need to use all his kicking power, so I usually let it fill up half ways, around 40-60 per cent, then the focus on getting the accuracy right. I find that it is a lot easier to stop the meter at the right spot, as it doesn't come down full speed.

I noticed this too this year, aiming left and right to adjust for wind is very sensitive this year. In past years you had to move more to the left or right, this year you need to make smaller moves left or right when adjusting for the wind.

So far I have made a few 45+ kicks without problem and missed 1 49 one. I still liked the flipping of the right analog stick better Just felt more natural, especially if you play EA NHL games or NCAA Football.

you're not done. I'm having the same problem.

This part of the game is VERY tempermental. I press the 'X' button right at the spot of the white line and it goes past it to zero accuracy and the field goal or extra point goes WAYYYYY right or left.

It should be hard, it's more fun this year, but it should not be as hard and inconsistent as they made it. They're getting closer in this area of the game though.

I have been playing this game on m,y friend's PS3 and this happened all game. Once to me and almost every time for him. Punts, extra points, fg's.....It is becoming annoying because I see him doing it correctly but the meter just blows back by when it gets to the bottom. Just can't stop the meter. This has to be a glitch or something. both of us are irritated because he didn't have a chance because he kept missing all of his kicks. It happened on BOTH controllers. We play on All pro. Haven't seen this issue on XBox.

I'm surprised no one else is having these issues. Can't be the controller. It works fine and it is brand new.

The timing isn't all that different from last year, but the meter looks so different it takes getting used to. In my first game I missed a PAT and 2 field goals and sent a kickoff out of bounds.

Since then I haven't missed a PAT or an easy field goal, all mt kickoffs have stayed between the lines, and I've regained my mastery of the coffin corner punt.

I didn't miss a single PAT so far, and when I was trying my sliders, I had them at 40 for field goal power, and was hitting 52 yards easily with crosby, in practice mode.
