What is wrong with the PS3 graphics??

I can't get online to sign up for online pass and get the updated rosters so I decided to try a quick game with the old ones. The game starts up and the players look like utter ****. I'm playing on with HDMI cables, everything is nice and sharp except the player models, am I missing something here?

Here is a shot of the Raiders side line. The on-field players don't look this bad but they do look pretty jagged as well. All the video's I've seen online look way better.

I have a ps3 and I am playing on 1080p and it looks amazing, nothing like that at all. You can see blades of grass and everything, did you go to display settings and uncheck the ones that you dont want, something is not right with your set up. that looks like ps2

Yeah. The PS3 graphics suck during standard gameplay. Tried the superbowl and the anti-aliasing is terrible. The players feet dont touch the ground right. Grass looks terrible. My madden 08 on pc has crisper players and field. SMH.

Yeah not sure what's wrong with your TV, but my game on the PS3 looks awesome.

Same here. PS3 looking great. Maybe your tv is doing some kind of processing thats causing problems.

I think some people dont understand how to hook up there system properly or thier playing on a poor t.v.

Also, some people think they have a PS3 when they actually have a PS2.

In this case, are you sure you don't have a PS1? Because that would explain it.

I messed around with the contrast and HDMI back lighting and the game looks a lot better now but still not spectacular. Any tech-guys know what else I can fiddle around with to improve the visuals?

PS3 looks fine, the 360 might look better, but PS3 looks great

Also seeing **** graphics. They look good up close on the player huddles but from afar you can see all of the jagged outlines.

Not inexcusable because everybody don't have that problem. That means it's something on your end. Now if everyone's game looked crappy, then we could blame EA, and I love blaming EA, but not this time. Madden looks gorgeous on my TV's, 40in and 52in Samsungs.

Umm im a pro videographer who runs a tv show. I also have a sick 1080p set hooked up correctly via hdmi with proper settings. Perhaps its ur eyes. I have jaggies galore on my otherwise pristine set.

True, but no one ever complains about the 360 having poor graphics, so it's obviously a ps3 problem.

I'm glad everything looks good for you, but on mine (and others), it's very sub par. You would think EA would know the cause of this and it would be incredibly helpful if they offered some insight.
