Personally my favorite is 05 followed by 06. 05 soundtrack featured Green Day, New Found Glory but most were less-known artists. Almost every song in 05 I could put on my iPod.

06 was the first Madden to introduce NFL Films music (which is a nice break from all the singing especially when playing Franchise) and introduced more well-known artists.

I knew All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Chamillionaire, Bump J before they were in 06. However some songs in 06 let's just say I would never put on my iPod.

Best song on 04 was Chapter Four by Avenged Sevenfold. That was before Avenged Sevenfold started to get kinda cheesy

Funeral For A Friend, Finch, and Foo Fighters were the best bands featured on 06. Avenged Sevenfold is good too, but I prefer their earlier stuff, like Chapter Four (which was on Madden 04, like I previously mentioned). I used to really like Bullet For My Valentine but haven't listened to them much recently.

I agree for sure. The soundtrack this year is terrible. The songs are actually annoying with the exception of a few.

At least the rock songs this year aren't as annoying as last years. I can only handle so much 80s hair metal like Guns n Roses and AC/DC

That's crazy. AC/DC is about the farthest you can get away from hair metal(Poison, Warrant etc )

Guns N Roses I wouldn't consider hair metal either or metal in general either, they are more hard rock than anything else.
