User "away" Online Franchise Question...

Since there isn't an online section anymore, I guess I'll ask this here.

How do you play the cpu when a user is "away" in online franchise. I have a user who is "away" but everytime his opponent tries to play, the game tries to send an invite to the user that's "away". Also, is there any way for the commish to change another users status? I'm noticing that I can't do that either.

Actually, right now, it looks like the commish can only advance and make "franchise news" updates.

Boot the player or have them leave, then re join once you advance the week and play the cpu.
