When are we going to be able to make these throws?

Anyone watching the Monday Night game last night, between the Patriots and Dolphins think to themselves "you can't make that throw in Madden" after seeing this?

Notice how the CB that was covering Welker didn't "know" the ball was coming... As you all know, if you tried to make this throw in Madden, this ball would be intercepted or batted down 100% of the time...

So, my question to you is, WHEN WE WILL WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE THIS THROW???

If I'm using one of the ELITE QB'S in the game, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THIS THROW... Along with throws like this one...

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-presea...000d5d82196de7

Those "backshoulder" throws that some of the NFL ELITE QB'S are making simply CAN NOT BE THROWN in Madden...

Just a few things I was thinking while bored at work

    What do you guys think?

Alot has to do with the catching animations. That said I've had throws similar to Welker's catch where the defender was right there and the ball seemed to by without him noticing. Many times in fact. I don't think the back shoulder catch animation is in Madden...at least I never saw it. Also the directional throwing in madden is not so precise that you can hit any part of the body. You can throw behind a guy...not sure he'll catch it...have to try that one.

I would love to see that stuff in a video game, but I'm not a programmer, so, I don't know how difficult it would be to translate that from real life to a video game.

Pass trajectory needs work, but I think you would need different animations from WR's for back shoulder throws.

I'm also not getting as much mirroring WR's with DB's as I have with past Maddens. It's better than it has been, but still needs some work.

I'm going to guess never. The defenders in madden are able to make plays on balls or the ball carrier without being able to see either. Defenders must always play the ball in madden. That is the only explanation I can logically come to. Defenders never play the receivers movements or motions they just always know where the ball is. Watching games this week I've come to realize that madden will just never get it right. Maybe this is as good as it gets which is sad because I can't see paying $60 for a game that is so flawed and missing so much.

I truely thought this would be a good enough game to make me forget all the next gen missteps, but in true EA fashion none of the improvements were implemented proper and of course there are the other unpolished annyances like bad commentary and draft/trade logic.

Not only that, but without a more advanced passing system...the user can't even control where the ball is thrown really. You can throw a bullet, or a lob...sweet, total control passing right there.

It's been time for a new passing system for like 5 years now, the single button press for throwing should have died with the sega genesis.

I know the Fins lost and the defense looked like utter crap but Chad Henne deserves a nice ratings boost after the game he had last night. Looked like a different QB out there and played with some cahonas. If Tom Brady wasn't already rated a 100 in this game he should be rated a 110 after the MNF game. I still hate him and the Pats but damn man that guy is one hell of a QB.

I felt like I had more control over passing on PS1 versions of Madden than I do in Madden 12.

I only see 3-4 different pass trajectories, very few touch passes, and impossible passing angles in the intermediate passing game since CB's have eyes in the back of their heads and LB's destroy passing lanes with superhuman reflexes.

              Time for a change indeed.

Exactly, they need to utilize both sticks, make it so you can lead a guy, throw behind a guy, throw it high/low, how hard to throw it...and then allow a quarterbacks attributes determine how hard it is for the user to accomplish what they want to do. But, that of course would be innovation, and thats a scary thing.

I'm thinking the old NFL Fever read and led would be perfect also as been said the ball trajectory needs to be revamped. Maybe with PS4 and Xbox 720 will get it..

For me, I don't need all the extra stick jockeying (use two sticks and flick this way and hit throw while moving around in the pocket, etc), I just want to be able to intentionally underthrow the ball, to be able to hit WR in windows in the zone, especially on crossing/slant routes (instead of predetermined locations on where the ball is going to go) and be able to hit corner and fade routes like in the NFL without having to jack up QB accuracy or down defensive coverage and make the rest of the passing game too easy.

A start would be to never lead the ball unless the user actually puts lead on it, which we, in theory, already can do by using the left stick as we throw.

QB Acc would determine the area where the target might end up instead of if the defender can make a play on it or not. A ball thrown by an inaccurate QB shouldn't give the defensive player a "bonus" to ability or anything, it should just make the catch zone erratically placed, like it would be in real life.

The sad thing is that I remember Ian coming on here two years ago and claiming that they implemented such a system. I've never seen it work as described.

Maybe its cause i remember playing games like double dribble an my all-time favorite tecmo bowl, but i think the games are great now, but that doesnt mean that i dont have moments where im literally cursing at my xbox lol.. but back on topic i dont see how this can be implemented unless customers are willing to give up on modes like be a superstar or anyhting like it that isnt an actual simulation experience.. sometimes i think the yearly demand is unfair to the programmers and that with all they are asked to do presentation wise that the gameplay suffers for it... but even with all that said, you can throw lobs an bullets, high or low throws, and now fades so its probably only a matter of time b4 we get the back shoulder throws as well, just be patient gamers

They already have this. Try using the left stick while passing. Simple hitting the button throws it to where the WR is currently standing.

ex. If the player is running to the right, push to the right and you'll lead him.

It's been this way for years.

I done that pass in madden , and you can lead pass with the left stick for a long time and you can still playmaker and tell your wr to run to the other side if you want
