Re: so no word on patch and

I think if EA patches the super LB's, then it essentially makes the game too easy. Players will just continually throw to their receivers on slant routes with ease with no fear that it could either be picked off or swatted away. I'm not saying this is right, however, within the Madden universe it's just something that you'll have to accept otherwise the improved zone defense, which was one of the major selling points this year, will be essentially neutered. The problem is the lack of ball interaction animations. Incomplete passes are rarely due to a LB in coverage swatting it away. They're either due to receiver drops, DB deflections, big hits, or poor passes. Once EA figures out a way to incorporate these into the game, then it will be even better.

Linebackers swatting down slant passes aren't the problem. The problem is with LB's leaping up to swat down passes intended for wide receivers running post patterns 30 yards down the field with the LB sitting 10 yards from the QB.

Also, the poster that said that "There isn't a problem with UDFA in franchise" is probably being sarcastic because Josh Looman said that there isn't a problem and that it's working as intended because they wanted to simulate the turnover in the NFL.

I'll touch on the Super LB thing real quick, A good amount of people think it has to do with the LB's jumping ability and it doesn't. IT IS THE TRAJECTORY OF THE BALL! Throwing a slant route 25-30 yards down field there is no way the ball is that low to the ground 5-10 yards off the LOS... The trajectory of the ball needs to be fixed it fly's to low to the ground.

The linebackers are doing what the A.I. is programmed to do which is when it sense's the balls close to leap up and try to intercept or knock it down. There's no way to fix that from the Linebacker standpoint without having them try and swat passes period.

Unfortunately I don't see them being able to adjust this until they overhaul the whole engine. Which we know isn't happening until next gen.

I really wish someone would post a video of a slant route being thrown 20-30 yards out over the middle during an NFL game preferably from a side cam view. We could present this to EA with a video of the same play in Madden so they can see how low the ball is traveling in comparison to real life.

I don't have the rain issue. Is it not everyone who is having this issue?

If you run with the Colts like I do it's probably because we play in a retractable roof stadium.

There's no such thing as super LB this year. You're just not getting enough air under your pass. You can't bullet a ball down the middle and think it's not gonna get hit. Most of the picks I've thrown this year have been picked off by safeties and cornerbacks. I only have one pick that I've thrown to a LB and I usually throw it down the middle of the field.

I would say my primary concerns for the patch would be all the rain games (hard to play those games when you have a QB with so-so accuracy), the UDFA's slowly taking over the game, the fact that I lose player roles for a player I edit, UDFA's pads being all huge and wonky, and that's all I can really think of.

Otherwise than that, this is the best Madden I've ever played.

Well, actually, while that is part of the problem with Super LBs, it's not the WHOLE problem.

The other issue with super LBs/DBs is that they react to a button press, and not based on their awareness or if they can actually see the ball. As soon as you pass, the DBs and LBs know that you've let go of the ball, and they know exactly where you are throwing it to, and they have instant reaction time to go after the ball, or to jump up and intercept/swat down the ball.
