My freezes weren't from Madden after all. My PS3 (original fat 60 GB) Blu-ray is dead.

Turned out to started freezing on all PS3 games and on a Blu ray movie I tried.

Still plays PS2 games, though.

So, after further review, my previous ruling is overturned and Madden is not charged with any freezes.

I've got a 60 GB too, so I'm wondering if that's the problem for me. Although I've not had any freezing problems with NCAA yet.

Mine has froze twice on PS3, both times after the same franchise game. Titans vs. Colts, it gets to the post-game cut scene where the coach is running back with his team, and naturally I press X to skip it, and the whole system just locks up. The screen gets frozen and no sound output, in addition to no buttons working. I have to manually restart the system by holding the power button. Definitely frustrating.

Just once but it did it at the worst possible time. In my 3rd season with the niners, finally made it to the nfc 'chip game, went to save the game, it saved the settings but not the franchise and all i got was a black screen smh.

Had my copy since launch, has not froze once. (Probably jinxed it

I only played online mode and at the end sometime when I want to save highlight the game freezes. and for some reason my PS3 never shutdowns properly after I play madden

I'd keep an eye on it. Play some other PS3 games too. I was fine with Disgaea 4, but that game uses the Blu ray disc much less than M12 that's always loading menu music or commentary (ha) or sound effects.

I have not had any issues with freezing at all even after playing a few hrs straight on the weekend it seemed fine to me no problems whatsoever
