How does the Truck Stick work?

I know this is a super-noobish question, but... how does the truck stick work on this game?

I got used to the way the truck stick worked when it first came out a couple years ago, but it seems different nowadays. Before, you would just tap it and it would... y'know... truck the guy in front of you.

Now, I notice you can hold the truck stick downward and it lowers the runningback's shoulder. How does that work? I've never broken a tackle on All-Madden by doing this with Frank Gore.

I can never tell when my truck stick works. When it first came out, there would be an indicator at the bottom, saying that the Truck Stick was used, but in this year's edition, I don't see any indication that it was used.

    Thoughts?

It's not exactly the "truck stick" anymore. Now, it is more just the player lowering his shoulder and leaning his body forward. Once I did it by mistake in open space with no one in front of me and my RB just leaned forward and eventually just fell down from leaning forward to hard. I think you have to time it well or it will lost it's effectiveness. Plus, on All Madden, your ability to break tackles is going to be a lot lower so don't expect it to work a lot.

Aaaahhh, I see. Is it one of those things now that we have to hold it for a bit, build up momentum, and then we can break a tackle? Or is it more of a "tap" thing?

I'm not expecting much on All-Madden though. But it'd be nice to have more than the juke when Frank Gore is one-on-one with a cornerback with weak tackling ability. I don't know if it's a placebo-thing, but I'm finding that sprinting, and mashing the sprint button, is breaking tackles?

Just time it so when you're about to get hit, you hold it through that hit so your back lowers his shoulder and powers through it. You may not run anybody over, but it's useful for when you just need one yard and you need to power through a tackle for a first down or TD.

I've found that if you cover the ball (RB) and lower shoulders with right stick, you have a little more momentum moving forward.

Just using the right stick hardly does anything, you normally get blasted just like 90% of the tackles. Unless you angle away from the defender and trigger that leaning animation/tackle.
