    Drop-Kicking

Today I decided to try something, to see if the development crew threw in a few quirks, in kicking.

I was within the twenty, but I decided to choose to punt. I aimed the punt right through the up-rights, like a field goal. In the NFL you can punt a field goal, and you still get credited with 3 points. Doug Flutie made this famous, by doing it in combo with a fake-throw. So my question is, has anyone found a way to get drop-kick field goals to work?

    TL;DR: Can you drop-kcik in M12?

A drop-kick and a punt are very different. If I'm not mistaken, with a drop-kick, the ball must first touch the ground (being dropped by the kicker) before being kicked, hence drop. I may be wrong.

Forget to answer your question. Have not seen a drop kick in any addition of Madden (going back 20 years). Guess it's on their to develop list with the shovel pass.

They used to have shovel passes on PS2. I could swear they did. If you were close enough to the RB you'd just kinda flick it do him.

              Re: Drop-Kicking

A ball must touch the ground before being kicked through the uprights to count 3-pts. That's why there's a holder on FG/XP.

A ball kicked from the air thru the uprights is a touchback.

In any case, any scrimmage kick that passes the line of scrimmage forfeits possession by the kicking team unless muffed or fumbled and recovered by the kicking team.

                True...

It's doubtful we'll see a drop kick in Madden... Considering Doug Flutie kicked the last successful attempt AND the most recent before that happened in the 1940's... ('47 I think) - don't expect it on Madden.

It's not a big enough part of the game.
