Most effective Defensive Lineman in Madden 12?

I am looking to start a franchise soon, and am really excited to have finally learned how to make a difference on defense the right way. I have learned how to fight for position with the O-Line and penetrate and pressure the QB. Up until today, my defense has been suspect without just sending a swarm of guys on a blitz. I just beat the Texans 21-3 with the Cowboys and Hatcher, Ware, and Coleman broke through consistently and had Schaub pressured all game.

So my question is, who are some dominant defensive lineman on this game? I am looking for guys who can break thru the line, chase down the QB and get a lot of sacks. I use the DT slot.

I love B.J. Raji... he is very effective and young.

Great player to build a Defense around.

phil taylor the rookie DT for browns is a good DT every game i play hes always getting into the backfield and causing havoc. also Jabaal Sheard hes a DE though both are always in backfield chasing after the QB.

Just go D Ware man, Hes the best. You can put him at DE and NT in some packages in nickel and dollar. Hes about as perfect at getting to the QB as your gonna get.

Just go D Ware man, Hes the best. You can put him at DE and NT in some packages in nickel and dollar. Hes about as perfect at getting to the QB as your gonna get.

And to this, D Ware is a monster. Just played against the Colts, and D Ware had 3 sacks going right up the gut of the O-Line every time.

I signed Tommie Harris to the Panthers and he had 10 sacks my first season.

Suh and Redding are a beastly tandem. If you like to change which DT you control based on the formation, the Lions are a great squad.

I have found Peppers to be a real monster. I move him around a lot when I use the Bears.

Another guy who really gets it done--perhaps more than the others, is Tuck. He gets the benefit of playing LDE, which makes his rush de facto more effective than RDEs.

All those guys will make plays on their own. If you're looking for a guy you will control the whole time yourself, Suh is it. I've played games where I've chased down tosses with that cat. He's unreal.

AS a Packers fan, i almost only play with the Packers, but anyway, i think BJ Raji must be one of the best DTs in Madden. He has lots of power which makes it possible for you to use bull rush move effectively.

Peppers is always good for me. Played a franchise game last night against the Saints and he had 3 sacks...most I've had with him in one game.

Usually he is good for a sack a game on avg.

mostly any player with good block shed and good strength. DT Fairley from Lions and DT McClain from Panthers do good for me.

Agree with this completely. Fairley and McClain have been great and cheap for me. I traded Gamble for Fairley in my 2nd year of franchise and have been at 15+sacks with each.

Agree with this completely. Fairley and McClain have been great and cheap for me. I traded Gamble for Fairley in my 2nd year of franchise and have been at 15+sacks with each.

As a Panthers fan, I would never trade Chris Gamble. He has been stepping up for us lately, and he is also solid on the game. He is really under rated, and has been a big reason why our injured up defense has kept us in every game this year. But if he had to go, Fairley is a beast haha

Thanks for all of the input. I may play a couple of Packers/Bears games to try out Peppers and Raji. Both of these guys names keep popping up so they must be good. I used Baltimore last night and all I have to say is wow. Their pass rush is amazing. I managed to get 1 sack with the top rated D-End( blanking on his name lol ) and 1 sack each with Suggs and Lewis, and big Terrence Cody led the game with 2 sacks. When the QB would hurry the pass to avoid the sack, Ed Reed got a pick along with two others. That was the funnest defensive game I have had.

*As you can tell, I do not keep up with the Ravens much due to the fact I can't recall many players names lol
