Madden 12 Trade-in value??
I'm considering trading in madden 12 to Gamestop but it depends on how much I'll get for it. Does anyone have any idea how much I would be able to get for it? Thanks in advance guys!Last edited by trinidad09; 10-23-2011, 11:36 PM.Tags: None -

Re: Madden 12 Trade-in value??
well they sell you the game for 60, buy it back for 20, then sell it again for 55. so they make 95 dollars off of you for 1 game. moral of the story, sell on amazon, ebay, or craigslistComment

Re: Madden 12 Trade-in value??
Right now it goes in for $22, if ya put it towards a select game it pushes it up towards 28.60 instead. Currently being sold as pre-owned for 48 not 55. Yea I know its only 7 dollars less but still isnt the same.
I do get a kick out of the remark about them making 95 of one person. I do believe that Gamestop and other companies have to buy the game themselves so I don't think they are making 60 dollars for a new copy of Madden. Its probably why they have a pre-owned business so they can make some money. And also the same reason companies like Best Buy are trying to do the same thing.
If you ever want the best value, pay attention to trade specials or if you want to make more money take the time and do like others have said sell it on Craigslist, Amazon, or Ebay. Personally I dont want to take the time to deal with the shipping and setting all that up, I find my time a little bit more important then worrying about how much someones makes off a game I don't want anymore.Comment

Re: Madden 12 Trade-in value??
You could probably sell it for about 30$ or just do a trade in for another game. I do a trade in for all those yearly games like madden or 2k cuz once u get the new one you never will play the old one so what's the point of keeping it? If its not a yearly game I keep all my games because I like having a collection of sorts.Comment

Re: Madden 12 Trade-in value??
I love how people get mad at stores like Gamestop for "low" trade in values. No one tells you that you have to go in there and trade in your old game.
Look at it this way... lets say 10 people traded in Madden 12 and get $22 dollars like someone else said. Then they try to sell it for $47. You are thinking woahhh!! They get $25 dollars for each copy. But wait... what if they don't sell all 10 copies for 47.99? They sell 4 for 47.99, 3 for 39.99, 2 for $34.99, and sell two for 24.99 eventually.
Let's say 6 people have one of Gamestop's discount cards. 10% off.. 3 from the 47.99, 1 from the 39.99, and two from the 34.99.
So instead of making the $250 dollars of profit from those 10 games... they actually get around $140. Then they gotta pay the people who work there, utilities, rent, and various other overhead expenses.NCAA Vets League: Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2, 6-1)

I rarely use gamestop because I usually can get a better deal elsewhere.
As someone who worked in retail for a good number of years, I can tell you that companies, more-times-than not are going to slant their deals and offerings to their advantage.
The only real time I've seen actually deals that seem to benefit the customer is the Black Friday deals. Companies use loss-leaders (items the "don't mind" losing money on) to lure you into the store in hopes of you buying more items.
Last I checked Madden NFL 12 trade-in value at Best Buy is $13. I don't know what it is at gamestop.Last edited by mattman2900; 01-17-2012, 04:45 PM.Comment

However, in Ohio, gamestop cant compete with my local game stores. Its common to save $30 over gamestops prices. It really makes gamestop look like a rip off store no matter how you cut it. The other store usually has 4-5 workers there too. They sell like crazy, and get tons of trade ins.Comment
