The Most Cheating Done By A Computer EVER

I'm up with the Saints 27-10 against the Jaguars. I dominated them the whole game entering the 4th quarter with the lone TD coming at the end of the second half. They start the 4th quarter with the ball at the 1 yard line. MJD proceeds to break 4 tackles and take it all the way to the house. 27-17 me. On the next kickoff i fumble and the guy on the Jaguars picks it up, breaks two tackles and scores a TD. 27-24 me. So i let the next one go for a touchback. My next two plays are sacks as every defensive linemen throw the OL to the ground in half a second and i have no time to do anything. Third play i have a guy wide open with no one around him and he straight up drops it (first of the whole game). I punt they return for a few yards. Next possesion MJD breaks 5 tackles this time and scores a TD, 31-27 CPU. Next kickoff guess what happens? I fumble of course and they recover at the 20. I hold them to a field goal, 34-27 with 2 minutes left. Next kickoff guess what? I dont fumble this time haha. My next 3 plays are passing plays and every single throw missed. I get the 1st down because of a run by Brees. Next three throws all missed and the last one i just chucked up which was intercepted and returned all the way for a TD while breaking 3-4 tackles. they win 41-27.

I have never felt so cheated on this game until I played that game. My first 3 games on this chise were excellent and then this game comes in and ruins this experience. I am beyond pissed at this game now.

Re: The Most Cheating Done By A Computer EVER

Better get used to it. Last night I had a game, my Niners vs Carolina. I kicked a FG to go up 24-7 at the two minute warning. Cam then proceeded to go into robo QB mode. Scored a TD in several plays, 24-14. Recovered an onside kick and quickly scored another TD, 24-21. Recovered a second onside kick. I got a sack and thought I had a chance but Cam chucked a bomb into double coverage for a first down at around my 15 yd line and scored on the next play to go up 28-24.

At this point I would usually get super pissed but I've come to know that the computer will sometimes "cheat" to help the user as well. After the kickoff I was on my own 27 with 9 seconds left. Sure enough a cpu safety made a boneheaded move and I was able to hit a WR deep down the sideline. He crossed the goal line with :00 on the clock for the win.

Try to not get too pissed about it. It's just built into the game, as frustrating as it is. Now if I could just take my own advice...

Re: The Most Cheating Done By A Computer EVER

So when is it ok for the CPU to come back , and not feel like it was cheating?

In the NFL this year there have been numoreous big comebacks, and many done in the 4th qtr, but when it is done in Madden it is a cheating.

It was one game as you stated, and that does happen. Where all of the sudden everything falls apart for a team, and momentum is one sided.

Now if this happen every 3 games or so then I would definitely have a problem with it, but you said this was the only game where it happened.

So what's the problem? You never seen this happen in real life?

thats one thing about this yrs madden that i didn't like about yrs past almost every game u have make right throws plays etc or else the cmp will beat u and like the other posters said it happens in the nfl why shouldn't it in madden? i played a game against the cmp just scored to make it 28-14 was just under 2 minutes and got the the games over just time pad the stats and next thing u know 3 long pass plays and fumble by me and the game was tied up with 1:45 to go the game went to OT which i won.again that's what i like about this yr madden it not complete blow outs of the cmp.

Considering the quick snap in the first Browns/Bungles game I would say there was some CPU cheating going on as well... lol

It is a game, I hate losing like that but sometimes crap like that happens IRL.

Protect the ball. Teams desperate for the ball in real life try to strip the ball as much as possible. Why shouldn't Madden teams?

Happens. WR are human. Sometimes they drop balls wide open. I'm sure we've seen that before in the real game.

So far, it sounds like your defense has been on the field a LOT already. I haven't read a single first down you've converted. MJD is a bruising runner, maybe your defenders are tiring.

Protect. The. Ball. You've already seen your KR is fumbling. Heck, I'd pull him out at this point. Right now you don't need a super kick return, you just need to maintain possession.

What kind of throws where these? Down by 1 score with 2 minutes left, you could go into a high percentage passing game and into a hurry up offense, especially if you have all your timeouts. I've done it - you can move 80 yds in 2 minutes without using hurry up if you use good clock management and take what the defense gives you.

Then, of course, the defense gets paid too so they could stop you. But it's hard to believe that with Brees and the Saints WR and TE and heck even using Sproles out of the backfield that you couldn't find ANY play that could net you some yardage through the air.

If you're not getting any protection, then it's time to make quick throws that can move the ball. If you're trying to go deep and you already know you're not getting protection - that's going to be tough. And, again, maybe the defense is just winning this time. It does happen. Best you can do it go Shotgun and try a screen if they persist on blitzing or maybe even a draw play if you have time and time outs - don't forget about the run.

Varied games. They happen. Look at 4 games for any real life team. I bet most of them will have varied games and I'm sure some of them they enjoyed more than others, even if they were all W's. Getting upset is just going to hinder you for next game and maybe start a vicious cycle.

This is why I think there needs to be a plainly labeled fumble slider. Fumble, int, recovered onside kick... is not a fun sequence, and games are supposed to be fun.

KB, I think that you're right , these things happen. But not all bunched together, it seems VERY artificial... whether it is or not.

@kblover all my passes were 5-10 yard passes that I had hit the entire game until those 6 throws at the end. And on the last kickoff I did cover the bll but tht didn't help. Hopefully this is the only time I lose like that and so far it has. I've had games where the CPU comes back (ion your sliders which I love by the way) but it was nowhere near to the extent of how I lost this game.

I like it when the computer goes a little crazy and comes back late...keeps me on my toes and gives me the same feelings as watching the NFL and you can see momentum shifting to the team trying to make a big comeback after being behind.

I've found that I can still make plays to keep them from completing comebacks, it's just a little harder when they have momentum, and you can't go for the big hit or the INT...gotta play sound defense and try to keep them from using the sidelines and/or getting a big gain.

I hate when people do this. Using a once in a lifetime miracle comeback game, and comparing it to something that happens in Madden nearly every single game or two.

Yes it CAN happen, but SHOULD it happen in the frequency that it does in Madden? No

I think the problem is the way it happens in gameplay. The OP mentions numerous broken tackles and I’ve experienced this also. It seems like a lazy way for the ai to implement a comeback. The user (OP) in this instance must have been doing a good job to get so many tacklers on the ball carriers but the ai just overrides you. That's why it feels like cheating. It seems to take the user out of the game and dictate the outcome of particular drives.
