Importing Draft classes and how to improve it
This is something that has bugged me for years and years. It's not a cosmetic thing, nothing about ratings, or even draft rankings. This could solve a lot of problems when it comes to accurate draft classes, not seeing a guy you want imported from NCAA to Madden, to the craziness of the fake UDFA in Madden. In NCAA, allow us to select the guys who are graduating to be imported into Madden. I don't think it would be very hard. Just before selecting import, have a screen come up allowing us to select up to 250-300 or so players. I mean that would give enough drafted players and then have extra to go into free agency. I know this will probably never be implemented, but I think it would go a long way to create a more realistic draft and NFL players.Tags: None -
Re: Importing Draft classes and how to improve it
I would probably stop even trying to achieve good draft classes if I had to manually select all of the players I wanted imported. Also, how do you figure there will be enough free agents? 252 players arre selected, and 300 players leaves you with 50 spots, less than 2 per team. In reality, ths would force me too spend hours perfecting my draft class and adding an absolute ton of players to the undrafted free agents section. -
Re: Importing Draft classes and how to improve it
they could just up the # of the draft class file to 400 or something then anyone undrafted goes into the UDFA pool to be picked up.. pretty simple it already happens. The draft is 7 rounds with 32 teams = 224 players are drafted in madden. so that leaves almost 30 rookies that go into free agency. why cant that # just be increased and do away with stupid fake players?PSN: MaddenMaven

But why would I manually want to select 400 players? That is <b>not</b> my idea of a good time.Comment

Re: Importing Draft classes and how to improve it
You wouldn't have to. It would just be an option. Much like choosing to import at all. You can choose guys you definitely want to import then let the game decide the rest of the imported class. Also, the number I gave was just off the top off my head. The main idea is to get more imported for each class than normal to prevent random generated guys from popping up in free agency. While after a few years you will end up getting fake players anyway, at least they will come from your progression in NCAA instead of just guys generated within Madden.Comment

Re: Importing Draft classes and how to improve it
The bottom line is Madden needs to import enough players so that 1) there are plenty of players to choose from at each position in the draft. The draft should never run out of players at a position and 2) there should be enough players imported to cover the UDFAs so that none of them are Madden-generated. If I choose to import my rookies from NCAA, why would I want fake Madden-generated players added to my franchise?Comment

Re: Importing Draft classes and how to improve it
Okay I was thinking of this the other day, Basically this is my idea right in NCAA Football you have a Draft Class menu.
You can select any player you want to be drafted by ticking them, next to it you also have a round option you pick 1st - 7th, Basically though you can only do 32 players for each round selected. Players come into Madden rated at what round they fall at 1st 85-80 2nd 79-75 and so on.
You save the file and import it into Madden, this is the only way I can see you could ever get a dead accurate class. Basically the order would come out random of who gets drafted so Andrew Luck might be the 16th pick but would always go in the 1st round. This wouldn't even be hard to add to the game but its the solution to the every draft class problem.
Also for UDFA you could do the same, just tick them as UDFA... And they take up the free agents pool from which you select at the end of every season.Last edited by TheRoarrr; 03-07-2012, 10:09 AM.Comment

Re: Importing Draft classes and how to improve it
You want imported rookies to come with random potentials and overalls like the generated ones. Running backs taken in the third round possibly having an A or B potential. Everyone wants that first round guy to be an A potential but realistically 67 percent of them should be in the high C range. That said, two things...
1. Madden simply needs a draft class editor. Make it sharable either thru locker or ps3 file. I think they don't have it to urge people buy the new game. Resources...percentages...Buget...
2. Update the code on either game to get it more accurate. This probably isn't done for time reasons and importance as a whole. The Percentage game. How many people use the function."Accept victory and defeat in equanimity"Comment
