NCAA 13 includes mock draft!

So it has been revealed that NCAA 13 will have a mock draft for players leaving college at the end of the year. Do you guys think this mock projection will be transferred to Madden 13 when importing draft classes?

I think, if this is the case, it would add a great improvement to imported draft classes in general. At the very least, it would take the randomness out of it. For me, nothing worst than having a great college player in ncaa just to see him come projected as a 5th round pick in Madden... At least with this, we could have a real idea of the players coming out of the draft before transferring files to Madden. It also allows for coaches to try and convince rookies to stay in school if their mock draft projection is not so high.

I really hope this feature works as I'm thinking, it would make a huge difference for my franchise mode immersion in M13

I looked but couldn't find it so this thread should be good until someone finds the other thread if there is one.

I think this will be a GREAT feature, I know many people on OS make excellent Mock Drafts for everyone to use and I always hated how the randomness when they were imported to Madden just project them randomly. Now the only problem would be, how would NCAA know what the projected order may be? I'm thinking it has something to do with Connected Careers where it can keep track of the season and when they do mocks, it mocks players where they could go based off current results in Franchise, etc.

Now I hope that this also means in the future that we can edit the projections to match it up realistically with the real draft, and I would like to see them expand the amount of players in each class and the ability to remove or add players to the Draft Class before importing. This is a great start!

I think it would be cool if the mock draft stuff did transfer over to Madden13. It would nice addition to both games. For now it is a wait and see game. But if it happens then I will like it alot.

It'll be interesting to see how they decide the mock drafts. Stats? Prototypical size? Physical freakishness? And I'd be all in favor of this representing the general draft order when Madden imports (approximated) and ideally, feature some busts and late round steals.

The potential excites me, I'm just worried that the 'mock draft' could very well just be a fun tidbit for NCAA that doesn't have anything to do with Madden. If my worries prove to be unwarranted, this will be something that is a big, big deal for the draft obsessed team-building types who really like nerding out about this stuff as much as playing the football itself.

Guys, of COURSE this isn't going to transfer over. It can't transfer over. How do you handle 2017 mock draft projections? Especially when you haven't even played the 2015 year in Madden yet?

If I'm playing the 2017 year in NCAA 13, and the Broncos are being mocked to draft a running back in the first round, what happens when I get to 2017 in my Broncos season and running back is no longer a need? The Madden game has to re-mock the draft? Then why even bother bringing in the mock draft in the first place?

Unless you're playing both seasons concurrently, and NCAA 13 is accessing the Madden 13 save data, then it's not feasible. Especially given the resources. Unless NCAA 13 is looking directly at Madden franchise saves, and the save correlates directly to the same year, then this concept doesn't work. And why would Tiburon develop a feature for such a small window?

What I meant earlier was that this really belongs in the NCAA forum, because the mock draft doesn't relate to Madden in any way.

The idea with the mock draft in NCAA13 is not with slotted teams from NFL.... It's projections based on player talent, it's basically a mock projection of the top players leaving for the NFL, so it's basically a mock draft without NFL teams picking in slot, rather just player projections.

BTW... This is exactly how it happens in Madden now so I don't see how it would not transfer.... round projections in Madden have nothing to do with which pick a team has.

You could be playing year 2016 in NCAA13 and it could easily project leaving players without having a NFL draft order.

That is a good point in deed. But I still don't think it has to be 100% pointless, I believe the NCAA projection could somehow work as some sort of baseline projection imo.

I hope they fix the way players are transfered as well. It's crazy to see a 90+ speed guy come over to Madden and become a 70 something speed.

I don't see it as pointless. If anything the mock can serve as a baseline. Similar to how you can reveal true attributes now in NCAA once a player is scouted, the additional Madden attributes can be revealed once the player is fully scouted. Maybe you'll be able to unearth some gems or reveal some busts based on your scouting.

The draft process was completely messed up last year. There's no way scouts are so blind to attributes. It was stupid. After the combine and pro days all of the measurables are there to be be seen by simply going to ESPN or NFL.com yet they were hidden in Madden? Dumb. Maybe now they can have some letter grades along with bench/40/shuttle/vert/broad etc. that can be turned into number grades as players are fully scouted.

A baseline for what? For Madden to calculate where draft prospects will fall takes no time at all, so why do they need a baseline? It's an outdated list anyways. (more on that next)

The recalculation comes from the fact that Madden has more ratings and traits than NCAA 13. Those ratings and traits aren't added until the draft class is imported, and they can be random. That alone will change the scope of the list. So a QB who was a sure-fire 1st round pick can suddenly become a 2nd round pick due to traits and ratings. Thus, the game will have to completely recompile the list anyways. Hence, any mock draft you bring over is outdated and pointless.

I hope that this feature is implemented well. A big problem with importing draft classes, is that they were random. I would edit the players so they could translate to Madden, like making Andrew Luck, RG3, etc perfect. And then I would transfer the class to Madden, and the ratings would be RANDOM. A garbage player would suddenly be good, a great player would be a projected 7th round pick. It was ridiculous and tedious to keep trying to load a draft class and have it perfect. THEN they added those HORRRRRIBLE pictures which were completely random. I'd have black players with a white face, Luck as a fatass. It was BRUTAL and completely took away from the experience. Make some sort of chart that translates the players from what they look like NCAA to Madden, and stop making it random.
