Re: Madden 13: Presentation News?

I personally would rather have game breaks (with a scoring highlight) than a halftime show. Postgame show would be very nice, though.

As for a weekly wrap-up show, I want this very much...if it has highlights of some kind, and perhaps draft info. If there aren't any highlights, then it's pretty much just the Extra Point which, while a good start, was certainly lacking.

In regards to highlights though, didn't Ian (or someone) once say that generating actual highlights was a little too much on this gen of consoles? That all highlights would have to be pre-scripted (ala that 'other' game)? If they scripted a crapload of highlights, I'd be more than fine with that. Maybe release free Day 1 DLC of just canned highlights you could save to your hard drive, for those that want lots of variety.

Perhaps that would be a good starting point until the next-gen comes out and real-time highlights (or whatever they would be called) could be handled on the hardware.

I agree with everything you said. I am not a fan of scripted highlights unless there was like a zillion of them. I don't want to see the same highlight multiple times a season.

Exactly. I don't know if it was just my Xbox, but 'that other game' got annoying VERY quickly for me to see the same pick-6 replay and "fat guy picked up a fumble" replay over and over again. And I only played 2 seasons of their franchise. Seemed like it was the same 4-5 highlights played constantly (with same commentary), with a few stragglers thrown in here or there.

If it's in Madden, make TONS, and release them as free Day 1 DLC. That way they don't lose storage space on the disc, and people who aren't interested don't have to get it. I suppose PS3 could probably just come with them on the blu ray.

i did notice that too with that other game but it didnt really bother me. far as the highlights go for Madden however i'm ok with the day 1 DLC idea for the highlights if they were to do it that way.

Re: Madden 13: Presentation News?

Lets look at it like this, football is americas #1 sport but has the worst game. simple things could be done to make this game great. foot planting, realistic movements. i wanna play with shady mccoy and feel like im playing with the real guy. im get tired of seeing the same animations over and over again. i bought backbreaker just for the tackles. WOW i loved that game. dont get me wrong im still hopeing this year is gonna change the way people feel about this game. im really hoping that this big announcment is real time physics in some capacity. tackling or running or something. doesnt have to be everything in the game just the really important things. i still wanna see recievers like Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson go up and make a play on the ball at its highest point. i would like to see a realistic stiff arm and open field juke. its been 7 years of madden on next gen and can honestly say im not satisfied where this game is at.

Hold on. You LOVED Backbreaker but consider Madden to be the worst game? I don't think so. Madden is not perfect and even without RTP it is way above and beyound Backbreaker.

Re: Madden 13: Presentation News?

Backbreaker was terrible indeed. i rented it from Gamefly and sent it back within 2 days. the tackles were great sure but no.
