I really want to know how to pitch the ball to a running back when running the triple option. Just hitting LT for xbox doesn't work. Please Help!

For example when playing with the Panthers cam newton has the play where he can give it to the running back or pull it out and run the option on the outside with the other RB. I would like to know how to pitch it to the RB on the outside because the play is useless without it.
