Once again, I know refunds will not be rewarded. I don't think it's too big of a stretch though that enough of an uproar could be caused to possibly hurt EA.
It's not a similar situation though, an advertised feature isn't going to only work on certain televisions. There isn't room for confusion, the back of the box says the number of players and distinguishes between offline and online. The liklihood of any substantial confusion/outcry (and compensation) is slim/none.

It will be difficult to get your money back when the info was available well in advance.

The only way people will get their money back is if they keep the receipt and the store accepts their return, but we definitely won't see anything like the Minecraft situation.
Well, there we have it folks. The official word from EA

Re: Just a thought...

Ohhhhhh I am gonna protest! Cry! Whine! All because of a video game? Man people that trip about this need to get a grip, seriously.

You, and we, are not entitled bro! I know it seems that way because these days everyone feels that way. Hell, you can't even get an out in T ball anymore because some mf'ers feelings might get hurt.

Back in the day we had fantasy drafts, 10 people deep and then one year (I forget) it jacked up and we couldn't use it. We didn't file a petition, or go on some march or protest. We dealt with it.

If you didn't get your way, deal with it...

Re: Just a thought...

Lol people are completely missing out on the point of this topic. I'm not whining about anything. I don't feel entitled to anything. I wasn't even planning on getting madden before all the removed features because I enjoy NCAA much more anyway.

And though they may not be advertising co op franchise, thus no false advertising, offline multiplayer franchises have been a popular feature for years, or among many of the people that I know at least. One should not have to check online to see if a feature they have taken for granted for YEARS still exists. EA should actively be making their fanbase aware of all changes, good or bad. I understand that would be bad marketing but it would also be honest marketing, which would gain something that this franchise has been losing for a while. Respect.

Though they are not required to, I just feel it is dishonest to remove these features and be perfectly ok with the fact that many people, who do not follow the game as closely as we (the vocal minority) do, will buy the game for the very features they have removed.

The Minecraft situation was a unique one. It's not often a feature only works on certain televisions. I do agree about there being an uproar I expect a lot of people will be very surprised when they get Madden 13.

Come on, do you really think EA is going to hand out refunds because people are upset? If someone gets Madden 13 and they're very disappointed do you think EA is going to handle their refund or is it going to be GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, etc? That's the point I was making and I'll be shocked if EA offers anything to people who are upset about the missing features.

Its off topic but I feel like I have to comment. Forza 2 and 3 both had tire wear if you actually raced a race that was over 10 laps or so. Some of the marathon races in both Forza 2 and 3 would force you to pit after about 15 laps because you would quickly lose lap times as your tires wore out and you lost grip. There is a tire wear screen that shows you how much wear each tires has on the games for a reason.

Now I haven't actually ran any long races on Forza 4 yet (lost access to my racing wheel until recently) but I doubt they took it out.

It has been forever since I played the game and the more I think about it the more I think you are right. Anyhow, my point is still the same. Many basic features of racing are missing from that game.
Madden is not perfect but it represents football very well in my opinion.

Madden represents some aspects of football really well (many passing concepts for example) but the game in the trenches is attrocious when you really look at it. It also does a pretty poor job at using proper defensive technique with their coverages which is another area they never seem to look into. I still greatly enjoy Madden but it has a lot of work to truly represent football if we look the trenches and the various techniques used by defensive players.

Forza on the other hand represents what it is trying to represent perfectly. It isn't a game trying to simulate racing, its a game for car lovers that is trying to simulate the experience of driving your dream car. The races and career mode are just filler so that we aren't just driving around a test track. I remember putting in about 6 hours of lap time on Laguna Seca with Forza 2 in an old 1940's Mercedes without another car on the track simply for the sole purpose of beating my old lap times.
