I am debating whether I should be a run or pass first offense and was curious as to what you guys are and why?

Run first, pass second .. I enjoy controlling the clock and stuffing teams with my defense .. -
Re: Are you a run or pass first team?
Depends on the team but I try to be run first if possible. Sometimes it's not really possible online like if I get scouted. Since I run so much the scout always tells them to play run.. I tend to rack up the pass yards in those games.Chicago Bulls | Chicago Bears | Chicago White Sox | Chicago BlackhawksComment

I will usually try to establish the run first and get the safeties to move up. Then I'll run a play action pass.Comment

Are there any particular sets you prefer running out of? (Ie. I-Form, Ace, Strong, Weak, etc)Comment

Run first, mainly out of I-Form and Singleback, then I'll go into the passing game. After that, most of my running is in the form of draws and delays.Comment

Re: Are you a run or pass first team?
Pass first and here's why. People who run, are very predictable. And because they run so much, they have a hard time passing when they want to pass. A good passing team needs to pass a lot in order to get into a rhythm.
Also most people don't have good game plans, they only plan 1 play ahead or none at all. Sure, some play action works, but it doesn't put up the points necessary to win a lot of games. Some, but not a lot.
I devised a great offensive strategy that utilizes 3 concepts from 3 different coaches and rolled them into one strategy.
1) Pete Carrolls K.I.S.S. strategy: Keep It Simple Stupid. My offense is primarily 3 plays, yes, just 3! All from Singleback 3 receiver slot strong.
2) Rob Chudzinski vertical offense
3) Oregon's fast no huddle offense
Here's the primary concept of how it works. Chudzinski's offense is vertical, you need a strong armed QB or this Offense will not work. Hit your receivers in the seams, primarily the TE. If he keeps safetys back, have 1 receiver run a hard slant underneath, the slant receiver is your check down. I always keep my RB into block.
Run the draws on 3rd and long (need a speed RB) or as needed, run RB screens when zone d is played.
Here is the main concept. No huddle, try to pass on every play, and keep your RB into block! Why? When you get into the red zone, the no huddle passing attack has your opponents defensed gassed. Stay in no huddle, you do not want your opponent to sub in fresh personnel! And because madden does not exhaust your RB when he stays into block, he is fresh and will run over and around defenders near the goal line like a superstar. Because you are running near the goal line this is guaranteed points of either 8, 7, or 3. And more than likely your opponent is still game planning to stop your pass, because he is is in pissed off mode. And pissed off mode does not allow us to think clearly.
The only way to slow this O down is for the defense to call timeouts. But most people don't, cause they feel timeouts are like gold, especially in the 2nd half. If they call a timeout when your in their red zone. More power to you, that's when you bring in the power back (who is fresh) and go back to the no huddle. If I don't have a pure power back, I save the best RB for this scenario. And let a second tier guy stay in for the journey down the field, 2nd tier guy is primarily pass blocking anyway. So your opponent calling a timeout is truly hurting himself by releasing the "Kraken"
Other important tips for this offense:
Strong armed QB:
Fast TE and fast Slot receiver.
2nd tier RB fast
1st tier RB power
If your guaranteed a win, pass from different formations, and try different stuff, as not to reveal your top plays, in case, or when you play him again.
On 2nd and short, I utilize a concept I call "pass n gas". I call pass, keep the TE into block, with RB blocking as well, and I purposly sit back and dance in the pocket as long as possible and gas the the defense (don't scramble with the QB, you don't want to gas the QB). I run or pass for a first down if necessary, but it's not the goal. I just make sure that I don't throw a pick or get sacked deep. Getting sacked shallow or at the line of scrimmage is O.K.. After this down is complete, I continue no huddle and the opponents defense is so gassed that they are very noneffective. If your opponent does not call a timeout, or is out of time outs. The following plays are a guaranteed score.
To me, this is real strategy, not Nano's, or cheese, or buying some clowns playbook strategy from their Madden site.
My 2 cents.
My defensive strategy is better yet, but different story, different day

Pass first, only run to set up play action, also passing early and enough helps the run if you use a draw play.Comment

Also, I can't recall ever seeing a quarterback purposefully dance around in the back-field to waste time. If that was the gameplan, the receivers also wouldn't be running 100% as they know they are killing clock.
Sounds like to me, you're abusing Madden's fatigue system. Good job!Comment

Re: Are you a run or pass first team?
Explain to me how the offense doesn't get gassed doing this. Receivers don't like constantly running down the field every play and they won't do it. If you are constantly running deep passing plays, your receivers are going to get tired and not have enough effort to give for an entire drive.
